Three days post-op - doing great!
Nov 20, 2009
I cannot thank my surgeon enough. She took care of my hiatal hernia, took my lap band out and did the gastric bypass surgery. I have been walking around, taking my pain meds when needed and just sore - that is all. I have less energy, but that is to be expected, since I am on protein in water, crystal light and broth right now.
Doing well - I'll post more once I have more news. Oh - and I started my process at 273 and I am already 260!!
I am so happy and eager to continue my lifelong change. My family is very supportive of me, and that I cannot be thankful enough for.
Best of luck to everyone having revision and having second thoughts. DON'T HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS. DO IT!!! It has already been a fantastic experience.
Thanks!
Amy

Ok - tomorrow is the big day!!! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am and my surgery is at 7:30am. Please cross fingers, say prayers, think good thoughts - because this time tomorrow - I will be in recovery (fingers crossed:)!
Best of luck to any of you who are having surgery this week - in case you are checking in before your surgery date. We can do this - and it will be a great experience!!!!
When I write again, I will have a smaller stomach (revision from lap band to RNY) and hopefully be healing well.
Thanks to everyone so far for your support!!!!

I am very excited and nervous at this stage - but know that this is the best option for me. I have looked and read and researched many sites, books and articles about this revision from Lap Band to Bypass.
Please cross your fingers or say a prayer for me - Tuesday is my day!
Thanks!

I am so excited, yet so nervous about my revision. I think the reason I am is the "unknown". I am praying things will go well on the 17th and cannot wait to get smaller!!
Positive thinking and good Karma are trying to hold me through - that and alot of prayers:)

2 weeks to go!

I am very excited and extremely nervous about my revision surgery. I am full swing into my pre-op diet (started a week early) and loving it. I actually started at 273, and I am at 269 at the moment (after 6 days). I think the main reason for the nerves is not knowing what type of things to expect afterwards - such as pain and recovery. I am doing a revision from the band to gastric bypass and I am very glad to get this foreign thing out of my body.
I am fully committed to making this work (had many issues with the band) - so I cannot wait to start the healing!
