Started thepre-op diet today and boy am I grumpy.  I also am getting a little nervous, but in a good way. 2 weeks and counting.

I finally have my surgery date and was approved by BCBS of GA. I am supposed to have sxy on 4/4/08---yay!!!! Wish me luck!

Well...these past few weeks have been a little irritating. THer has been a hold up at the insurance company, but hopefully I'll know something next week. The staff at Hickory Surgical has been phenomenal--thanks Donna btw). I think when any one makes the decision for this life altering surgery, you are ready to get the show on the road. I know that's where I am now. I want to get it done and get my life on its new track.  

I no longer have the "fear" like I did. I believe God will keep me safe.
I am still just a little nervous, but that is normal.

Well, I had my first visit with Dr. Cox today. Besides the long wait time--happens sometimes--it went well. He thinks I am a good candidate for surgery. This is a major hurdle for me. Now I wait for insurance to give final approval for my surgery.  This is the hard part. Waiting. I feel like I have been waiting my whole life to be who I am without the fat. I realize that I have identified myself almost my whole life as the funny fat girl. Now the realization is I can't hide behind my fat much longer. It is a freeing thought and a scary one at the same time. I'm just ready to get the surgery done and get on with my life and do the things I've always wanted to do. Pray for me.

I have my appointment for my "pre-op physical"  with Dr Cox at Hickory Surgical Center on 1/10/08. I am really excited--and a little nervous. It is becoming more real and the prospect of changing my life to be happier and healthier is almost overwhelming. Woohoo-------here we go!

Well, I am a little closer to my goal. I completed the psych evaluation which was more uncomfortable for me than I thought it would be. The counselor was wonderful, but really picked me apart. Knowing she had a job to do, I cooperated, but some of it was a little uncomfortable to "examine".

Other than that, I am going to my required education class at CVMC in Hickory, NC 9/26. I have all my records, letter from my primary care, and am getting blood drawn for required panels tomorrow.  Hopefully, there is enough information to support the insurance not making do the ridiculous "6 month weighing every month" junk.  Could they get any more crazy? Do they actually think that any of us haven't tried to get this weight off?  Any way......wish me luck.

Well, I am on my way. I am scheduled for my psych evaluation, have my class scheduled with CVMC in Hickory, and have my doctor's letter, medical records and a completed questionnaire. Now the irritating part begins as I wait to see what next.  If any one has any suggestions, let me know.  Woo hoo!!
