Two weeks and one day post-op. I finally went grocery shopping for the first time since my surgery. It was kinda wierd. I had to remind myself that I couldnt eat all the stuff I saw. I felt a bit sad that I probably would never eat alot of the things I would have normally bought. I couldnt leave the store though, without having bought food for myself. So, I bought stuff that I would be able to eat eventually. Things I could put in the freezer and take out when I am able to eat those things, so that made me feel better. To date, Ive lost 21 lbs. 14 since surgery. My scale is old and is a bit off..I think by 10lbs. So I am going by my dr. scale instead of mine till i get a new one. But my scale does show that I have lost another 2lbs since Tuesday.  I am trying really hard to follow the rules my nutritionist sets. But I would really love to eat something other than sf pudding ,jello, applesauce, and cottage cheese. I just worry about getting sick. I so dont want to test the limits and get sick when I do start eating. Exersice is slow, but I am moving more and more each day. Hopefully everything will just keep goin well for me.

Well I'm just about 2 weeks post op, I feel good, no nausea yet except for when i tried my protein drink on the fifth day. I dont drink them anymore, instead i drink two protidiet concentrated cold drinks(15g protein ea.) and 4 cups of milk(9g protein ea.) So thats how i get my protein from now on. I have started to eat a little bit of cottage cheese and applesauce. According to the dr.s nutritionist we arent supposed to have that till 3 or 4 weeks post op. But its goin down well and i needed something other than sf pudding to eat.
And omg...the gas i have is ..unreal..my husband just keeps goin..'shheeeeshhh' and 'whoaaaa' and ' you sure thats normal?' hahaha. I hope it goes away soon cuz I'm gonna have to go out in public at some point.  Anyways I feel almost normal now, i still miss food sometimes, but not so much anymore.

A week and a half post-op, and I'm feeling alot better. Now that the tube is out I dont have anymore shoulder pain, which was such a huge relief. I do find myself missing food. But everyday i think it gets a little better. I did have to stop drinking my protien shakes as they were making me sick. So i bought some concentrated cold drinks from my dr.s office, which is alot better. I cant wait till i can have cottage cheese and eggs in a few weeks. I have lost 14lbs. so far, and thats just awesome.

Surgery is behind me now!

Well, I'm home now, and not feeling too bad. The surgery went well. I was suprised to feel as good as i did. The main pain i had was/is the gas pain in my shoulder. The dr. said it could be from the JP drain also, and should go away after i have that taken out on Monday.  Emotionally i feel like i did when i had my kids. Kinda like having the baby blues..fine one minute, wanting to cry over nothing the next. I'm sure its just a phase and will subside soon.  I'm doing real good with getting in my protien and enough fluids, I'm able to take in more than the 15cc every 15mins. Not by much, though. I'm just lookin forward to recovering from the surgery so i can feel a little more normal. Well I'm off on a whole new journey in life, and I'm sure its gonna be one heck of a wild ride.
