Well it's been a yr & 3 days!

Mar 27, 2010

I haven't been on this site in a while, but a quick update on me and my success
I did lose MOST of my pre-surgery weight which was AWESOME! the lowest I seen on the scale I weighted 125lbs! & I could wear a SIZE TWO from Old Navy! It was a major achievement for me coming down from sizes 16-18.

FAST FORWARD today March 27, 2010  I am currently 30weeks(7 months) pregnant with my first child, I know that I didn't wait the full yr to try and conceive, but I was told that I could not have any kids without taking fertility drugs- due to having PCOS so I wasn't constantly actively preventing nor trying to conceive. I did not 'officially' find out that I was pregnant until January 22, 2010- already 6 months. On January 21st I took a home pregnancy test & it came back positive, which was a shock so I took like 3 that night, all came back positive, on Friday January 22, 2010 I went to plan parenthood to confirm the at home test- it was definitely positive!! I don't really re-call any true pregnancy symptoms since I was still only 6 months out from surgery- if I ate to much/ to fast vomiting would occur, but everything else was normal for me. But as for the baby and I everything is going well & both of us is healthy!!...according to the ultrasound it's a GIRL! with estimated due date of June 2, 2010!! & my current weight is varying from 140-144lbs, which is still LESS than what I weight a year ago!  Until next time!

It's been 4 months & 2days!

Jul 26, 2009

WoW! It's been 4 months and 2 days since surgery and I've rocked my sleeve :) I weighted in today at 151!! So that's 58lbs from surgery weight in, and 64lbs from my highest weight! My clothing size has been dropping steady now...Im wearing anywhere from 9's to 6's! I refuse to buy jeans at regular price, my favorite store for jeans is goodwill! can't beat $6.99 for jeans and I always seem to find brands that I *LOVE* with nothing wrong w/ them!  As far as my shirt size- I can freaking wear a SMALL/MEDIUM! & that is AMAZING! I am not losing quickly were I have that sick look, that everybody was worried about pre-op, I get so many complients now, bra size went down from DD to C, didn't really have a big booty, but NOW it's really non-existent..aside from sagging and an extra flat behind life is *good*....in the near future I see breast lift, maybe some lipo, and I want some fat injections or butt implants! :) I may change later, but for now thats what I see!

One Month

May 02, 2009

Okay...I am officially late with this entry! But let's see...it's been a month and a week since surgery and down 28lbs!!! Things have been great! I have had my share of the "stall" where the scale would not move for days!! but I believe when I wasn't moving the scale, that inches were coming off :) I'm down to a size 13, and tight 12's! Most people at work have commented on my weight loss, they notice it in my face, but i still have a double chin just isn't that noticeable at a certain angle.....I get on the scale at least once a day if not more! but it's habit...I believe males are noticing me more than previously, but they could notice me more because I am more outgoing, confident in myself which I am starting to LOVE!! ....Well  I got fitted for a new bra, me thinking okay I've lost some weight so let me get fitted....when to Victoria Secrets and they tell me 40DD....okay the bra is like uncomfortable to an extent, so I go into Maidenform and get fitted they tell me 38DDD! I was soooo disappointed, but the bra fit very well but it seemed like it was a minimizer which I don't want my top have smaller than my stomach...I haven't seen anyone in my family since having the surgery other than my mom, so on Mother's Day I plan on seeing my grandparents and my bestfriend who is overweight but scared to have the surgery....so we shall see how that mini reunion goes since my bf has some jealously issues, by having the weight loss surgery I believe that some of my relationships are going to end with the fact that for once in my life I feel great about myself and I have the 'you can't tell me nothing!' attitude!!! Well that's all for now!

mY suRgERY

Apr 13, 2009

Well surgery went very well! Let's see- the day of surgery Rosy picked us up from the hotel in Eagle Pass took us across the border....met with Dr. A and Rosales did the weight in and go over the health history....My 'sleeve brother' let me go first which I was sooo grateful for!! My nerves started kicking it, and I was getting ansy! We were admitted to our rooms, I was stuck with the smallest room :( but it was only for a day. The nurse came to take me to get lab work and xray, then I went back to the room and she came to start the iv and give me my gown to change into....i was getting very ansy then, then i recieved the 'happy juice' and remember telling my mom I love her and I think i can do this...when i woke up I was in my bed and need to use the bathroom...me wanting to do it by myself I almost fell down but thanks to mom! I didn't ;) I wasn't in that much pain, the nurses came very often to give me the pain and nauseous meds which were good, couldn't have anything to drink , not even a sip! Later on that evening I finally got some ice chips but I didn't even want them...and I started walking the halls..the nurse took me off the iv machine, but kept the iv in and over the night it began to hurt when they would put meds in, so they removed the iv...then i get very naseaous since i had the iv out I need to get a shot in my hip! O' GREAT! it waSn't that bad, then later on I need pain meds I couldn't get comfortable in the bed since I am a side sleeper! so the pain pill was a sublingual tablet and it had a minty taste which didn't agree with my body and as I am  the doctor walks in, so I get a sleeping pill which helped a great deal :) the mexico time and eastern time-totally messed me up! By this time I am ready to go home/the hotel just out of the hospital! The morning to leave....I get some jello and some juice..the juice was THE BEST juice ever!! So we have a consult with the doctor before leaving to get the discharge information, I notice that my hand were the iv was had...is very swollen but being to anxious to leave it skips my mind and I don't even say anything...most of Dr.A's patients after discharge you stay at the hotel, but I was scheduled to head to the airport! The ride back to San Antonio was a bit rough on the tummy! But I had a pillow to hold against my stomach which helped a lot, the plane ride wasn't that bad but we did run into some turbalance but I had that handy dandy pillow!  Overall it was GREAT, would do it again in a heart beat....

15 days til SURGERY! 8 days PRE-OP diet

Mar 07, 2009

Okay, so it's officially a new start to my life as I know it now! It's scary but also exciting at the same time...in 15 days! I WILL be a different person!!! I can finally feel confident in public, in my clothes, in everything i do.. I know that I am not 'that' overweight some people will say..but being overweight/obese is still the same thing...Im jumping head first in everything now...my first time ever on a plane, out of country, and major surgery!! *wOw* Most people that I have told about my surgery are very supportive, and some that *try* to scare me...but they do not realize that I am doing this to become HEALTHY! (physically and mentally)...they never tried to scare me out of eating the fried or junk food... MOVING ON.... in 8 days I have to do the dreadful pre-op liquid diet, I did a "test" day to see how I could cope, and OMG! I thought I was literally gonna die! NEVER in my life have I just had LIQUIDS :::geez::: but I have to say for me the first couple of hours were *VERY* difficult since I was at work, and my cube mate had pizza for lunch ::work@acallcenter::: and PIZZA is my favorite! and I didn't give in! I was so proud of myself!
