November of 2014.

i will never regret this journey! I lost 129 pounds ..literally half of me. I got married for the second time weighing 135 when I walked down the aisle... I have kept the majority of the weight of, fluctuating between 145 and 170 depending I the time of year. Truly the best choice I ever have made!!

For five years, I have been contemplating WLS. I have been on this site thousands of times and studied...yes analyzed...folks' Before and After pictures and always noticed the sheer happiness in the after pics.

This morning I looked at those pics again and it finally sunk in   I DID IT!! I had WLS and I am on my way to a healthier, more productive life. One week ago today I had my surgery...one week later!! I am on my way~

I wanted to write today~ I am feeling better..still uncomfortable but better. This morning for breakfast I ate OATMEAL!!! (granted it was very thin, and only three spoonfuls) but still oatmeal. 

Each day gets better and better. Yesterday I even swept the kitchen and cooked dinner for my kiddos. I would do this again...the only real problem I am having is making sure I am eating enough. I eat every 2 hours and I am afraid to eat too much so I feel I may be eating too little.

I bought these fresh start protein shots. Every 2.8 oz has 46g of protein. Taste totally nasty but tolerable if chased with a sugar free popsicle. At least though, I know I am getting a lot of protein while on the liquid diet!

Here  I am 4 days post-op...and making it. I feel better today.. To those of you who are upcoming, here's my message to you:

This is the hardest thing I have EVER done in my life..it hurts...it hurts like hell!! Now that that has been said~ I would do it again.

Today has been the first day I have really felt like doing anything. But I have been up this morning, had a very samll cup of coffee and made up my bed..Normalcy returns. I slept all night last night. The first time in 6 days, and it definitely makes a difference!

I met with Dr. Yancey yesterday in his office to go over final instructions. He is AWESOME!! He took a lot of time with me and waylaid my mom's fears. She's a nurse and bombarded him with questions. Afterwards, I went to Chesapeake Memorial and met with the bariatric coordinator which was also helpful. She gave me tons of good tips and even let me sample some of her sample products.

A strange calm has come over me. I am still nervous because it is surgery after all, but I so know this is the right thing for me to do. I am so very excited and ready to get on with it!!

My pre-op tests are Friday and next week I meet with the surgeon and bariatric coordinator one last time before the big day on June 9. I am nervous, but I am so excited!
Is it crazy to be sooo ready to run around in my back yard with my kids?

I can not believe I got approved this quickly~ I am so scared, yet I am so excited. June 09, 2008 cannot get here fast enough!
