My weight lost has slowed down but have had many problems to slow it down. I fell almost a week ago and messed up the left side of my body. Guess im not used to the weight lost and losing my balance. Plus with having this lung problem its taking me longer to get the weight off. Hoping by the new year i can start working out and getting the weight off and building my muscles back up. Maybe then I will stop falling.

I went and seen my family doctor on Thursday and she took an x-ray of my lung. It is still collapsed and still has a little fluid on it. She said it will take another 2 to 4 weeks to heal. I am still having pain in that area where they put the tubes. Also she said the arm pain is cause from the lung problem. When the lung heals the arm pain will too.

I am now 5 weeks since my surgery. I am still having problems with the protein shakes and even eating. I hate that i cant sample the food in the store to make sure I can eat it. But NOOOOOOO stores don't allow that. BOOO WWWOOOO!!!!! It would save us money and time....... Husband is tired of eating the food i cant handle. Which has been a lot. So far cottage cheese works for me and tuna fish and wheat thin crackers...... I was told it will take time and since i have had the surgery I have a lot longer time to get used to the foods. I HATE real tators YUCK! LOVE fake ones.

Well I now have a nurse coming once a week to check on my wound care. She also comes to listen to my lungs and said the left lung is still not working like its suppose to it is struggling to expand. Makes me a little nervous and wonder what i could do to help it. I go tomorrow to see my surgeon and find out what he thinks i need to do to get it going right. I am walking more too to try and help it.

I have finally made it home. That was scary. I never want to have a collapse lung again. That was so scary. 9 days in the hospital. Im just glad I am back home and able to be here to tell you about it all.I have lost so far 34lbs since i started going to the clinic to get this going. Ill write more later.

Well I am still in the hospital. I am doing better but still have fluid on the lungs so I will be here until its all gone. Im so bored and hurting so much. Thank you for all the prayers. Hope you all are doing well with you diets. Take care... Hugs

This is Pam's husband.  I was asked to post on here what is new with her surgery.  Well here goes she is back in the hospital and has been since monday afternoon, that was 5 days ago now.  She has fluid built up around her lungs and her lung collapsed leaving her out of breath and with severe pain in her left side.  They took her into CT and put a drain line/bag thru her back and drained off 600cc the first time and then today they put a new line in her back and drained off another 200cc.  She will be in the hospital probably another week and is hanging in there.

We could use a few prayers about now.

Well its been 6 days since my surgery. I'm still in some pain but think its mostly from these stupid staples pulling on my belly. I am almost down to the weight I was when i went in for my surgery. I cant eat much at all. Hoping this is normal. I am having a problem getting 8 oz of my shakes down a day. But I feel great. No lost of energy at all. Sorry it has taken me so long to come on here and write how i was doing but i just didn't feel like getting on here and having the computer touch me. I'll keep you all posted on how I am doing.

Well....... Surgery is finally here. The new chapter in my book starts. I have had many chapters in my book but this is the best one yet. Am I nervous? NOPE. Husband is nervous enough for the both of us. Am I excited? HECK YEA!!!!

This drink I am drinking isn't easy though. Its making me sick to my stomach. It don't taste good, and oh so hard to drink. UGH! I'M HUNGRY FINALLY!!!!!!

Today was my pre-admission testing. Good news is i am eating right. Sugar is a little high. I have a Vitamin D problem. But other then that I am good for surgery. Oh yea my O2 is low in my blood too. But they said that will be fixed too. Im so excited only a week and half left till my day under the knife.

My surgery is now scheduled for Aug 16th at 8:30 a.m. I am so so so so so EXCITED!  13 years I have been waiting for this day!
