Valuable Learning

The most valuable thing I’ve gained from my weight loss journey is LEARNING about nutrition, healthy eating, and portion control.  I have devoted myself to learning how to be healthy and doing my best to apply what I learn to my life.  I’m still far from being a “health nut” but I have come a mighty long way from where I used to be.  The more I learn about nutrition the easier it is to make healthy food choices.  When I’m hungry, I think about nourishing my body rather than just eating to get rid of the hungry feeling.  The more I learn how nutritionally void junk foods are, the less appealing they are to me (although my taste buds constantly put up a fight and sometimes win…lol).  BUT I WON’T GIVE UP!  Even though I fail sometimes, I look back at how far I’ve come and keep in perspective that yes I ate junk food today but I stop right now and get back to healthy eating right now.  Because I know all too well that when my diet consisted of lots of junk food all the time I was physically and emotionally miserable.  I am so very thankful the Lord blessed me with this opportunity to have a better life.  I thank the Lord for helping me change my mind set about food.  I give Jesus all the glory.
