Hi y'all! My name is Anna and here is My Story.   I am married to a wonderful man of almost 6 yrs  who loves me "as-is", and we have two beautiful children: 11 and 5 yrs old.  I have always struggled with my weight, especially in my adult years and have rollercoasted with the highs and lows of weight loss and weight gain.  However, the last 8 yrs I have continually gained and gained until I  hit my highest weight @ 260 lbs last year  (keep in mind I am only 5'1) !  I had entertained the thought of WLS but didn't give it serious consideration until last year, when I turned 40 and was at my highest weight ever.   I had a long discussion with someone very close to me who has had WLS and it was in a moment of clarity that I realized and accepted this is what I needed to do for me.

In speaking to a close friend I discovered how much I had consciencly, and even unconsciously, changed my lifestyle due to my weight.  While I am normally a happy and positive person, I am also very hard on myself.  Most of my family, Aunts and Cousins, are not overweight so it is a constant "silent" reminder of my own failure of being overweight.

However, now in this process I am very motivated and excited on this second chance!  I am learning alot by reading other people's stories and blogs...so thanks to everyone who posts!!!  One person's story motivated and inspired me to write down my post surgery...aka: 2nd Anna as I call it...goals! The things I would like to be able to do and mark these milestones for me and this journey:

1) Cross my legs
2)
Wear high heels (which hubby will love)
3)
Be able to do a 5k walkathon
4)
Take an Airplane ride again
5)
Buy a pair of pants not from my typical normal store that is geared only for plus sizes.
5a)
Make that...to buy a size 6 pants!  *Eye* is that a goal or what since I am a size 24(ish)
6) To no longer be considered: Morbidly Obese
7) Acheive weight loss uner 200 lbs (can't remember the last time I weighed under 200 lbs)
8) Get to my ideal body weight - 130
9) Develop and maintain a fit, healthy and God-filled lifestyle
10) To be OK with me...ongoing goal =)

....as I think of more things I will update and add to it =)

So this is my story.   I encourage and support all of you who are at different stages on your own Journey!

God Bless and take care!
