ok here is my story I am 245 pounds! I went to my PCP and asked for a refural to a WLS I have tricare insurance and thought that this was going to be a piece of cake. I was refured to Dr Shones office and was right away very happy with them they are great! His staff it topnotch and very nice. Well I did all that I needed to do, Insurance required, Pyc eval, nutrition class and paid for them out of pocket lots of cash!! We set the date for September 7,2006. On the 30 August i recieved a denial letter from tricare telling me that I did not meet their requirements for this surgery and I could appeal it and had 90 days to do that. Well after a few( ALOT ) of calls to tricare I went back to my PCP and requested a refural to DR Wilcox at Fort Carson Army Hospital and was told that I would have surgery and I didn't need to worry about tricare and my appeal because he said that he doesn't have to mess with all that. It is a base and he makes that determanation on if i should or should not have it. And HE Said YES!! So now I have to go threw The Classes again and then I am on my weight loss train HOOHOOHOOOOO!!
