Blissfully Stuck

Nov 28, 2008

Here I am 5 months since my last post.  Life has been wonderful as a Bride.  I've been cooking great meals for my husband.  I've almost become another Betty Crocker...lol     The unfortunate thing is my weight has stayed the same for the past 5-6 months.  In the old days (prior to surgery) I would have thought this was a blessing.  However, I still need/want to loose 70-80 lbs to reach my goal.  So I plan to follow the "Plateau breaker guidelines" posted by my friend  (jos52bbe).  I hope all of you have been successful in reaching your goals and if not that you will begin again to work hard at keeping fit, healthy and happy.

I'll let you know my progress.   HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON....  Ann

Jul 20, 2008

My special day went perfectly.  We had a wonderful week in Las Vegas with Tony's daughters and a couple other friends.  We visited the grand canyon on our way home.  Now we are preparing for a celebration party.  Wow what a wonderful 18 months after RNY surgery.  My life has been changed in so many ways for ever.... Thanks to God for all his blessings.

Back on Track

Mar 18, 2008

Well I think I'm back on track now.  Both Tony and I are using Fitday.com and tracking what we eat.  We are planning our meals and writing down everything trying to stay under 1700 cal. each day.  The scale has started to move downward again for me.  Hopefully Tony will see results soon cause he needs the extra motivation.  I unfortunately find it way to easy to eat junk food.  If I had been writing down all the stuff I was eating I probably would have stopped it along time ago.  Life is a never ending learning process.   Each day we get a new chance to change things for the better..  Hope you all are having much success in all you do.

March Madness

Mar 01, 2008

I've been enjoying the wonderful warm weather we have been having in Tucson for the past week.  I had my foot surgery almost 2 wks ago and have been sitting around "eating" with my foot elevated.....Bad situation.  The scale has gone up about 6 lbs and that bugs me.  I've been bad eating some chocolate and too much bread.  Well this is going to stop for sure.  I get my stitches out on Tuesday and I hope to be moving around alot more on the foot.  I gotta get away from the refrigerator....   I'll be working in the yard now and that will get me away from the TV and food.  I know I've gotta drink more liquids and take in more protein and stay away from the starches....  I'm still loosing inches except I'm really bloated from the pain medicine I've been taking.  I was experiencing constipation from it too.  Luckily I am taking very little of the meds each day so that problem should go away....  Thanks to all of you who have sent me emails of encouragement.  I haven't been online enough lately to respond to each of you individually.  Please forgive me.  I do love hearing from you all.  God Bless and watch over you as he does me.

Wonderful things keep happening

Feb 18, 2008

Hello to all my friends.  Life has been so good and so busy for me the past couple months.  I saw my surgeon dr. Juarez on Jan. 29th.  He was very pleased with my progress and said all my blood work looked normal.  My protein level was a tiny bit low.  I see him again in 1 year.  Amazing isn't it...   I feel wonderful.  I have 10 more lbs to go before reaching my 200 lb lost mark.  I'm thrilled.  I, of course, have some saggy skin here and there.  My face unfortunately is starting to show lots of wrinkles in the cheeks as I smile.  Darn it!!!  My eye lids are starting to hang down over my eyes also.  I didn't think about needing a face lift in order to see properly...  I suppose it is part of the big picture.  It is a wonderful journey however.
I have bunion/hammer toe surgery this week.  I've recovered very nicely from my hand surgery performed last month.
Continued good wishes to all of you for success in your WLS journeys.

Life is good

January is off to a cold start. Burrrrr  I had to buy a wool coat to stay warm this year.  I stay colder now that I'm thinner.  I was so excited to find a wool coat in a size 20 that actually had some spare room in it. I had some lined leather gloves packed away which I can now wear... So I am a very happy camper...  My wrist is healing nicely from the carpol tunnel surgery I had done a short while ago.  I look forward to my bunion surgery in Feb. and then I'll have my other wrist operated on.  The numbness in the hand is pretty bad when typing or holding something for an extended period.  My next BIG event will be hopely early February when I reach my "200 lb" lost point.  Hope you all are doing equally well.  Those who are having a difficult struggle, "Don't give up or get discouraged".  Each day is a new beginning and a fresh start. Just keep following the rules to good health and healthy habits. Oh and don't hesitate to ask a considerate and understanding friend for help. Emotional support is very important to us all especially thru the tough times.
God Bless you all.

Happy New Year

Jan 01, 2008

Hope all my friends had a wonderful Holiday Season.  Every day seems to be a holiday for me.  My life keeps changing and getting better and better.  I'm feeling so "light on my feet".   I've met a wonderful man who encourages me and adds much pleasure to my new life style.  I've been keeping very busy merging two households.  I didn't do too bad food wise over the holidays.  I did have some regular sweets although I mostly stick to the sugar free candy and bake with splenda which tastes just like regular sugar to me.  My weight loss is still going well however much slower than in the beginning but i'm very pleased.  I guess I'm averaging about 2 lbs a week which is great!  I'm now down 180 lbs.  My 1 year mark is coming up January 31st.  I'm sure Dr. Juarez will be very pleased.  I'm so blessed.
