Hi. I also have surgery tomorrow 9-6-05. I am not the least bit scared though because I believe in my heart that this is the path that God has decided to send me down for a better and a healthier person. Good luck to you, and I pray that God will also bless you and bring you peace.

Gail, First - I love your journal and your kids are absolutely adorable. Does your daughter have blue/green eyes - they appear to be and are drop-dead gorgeous - she is going to be a heartbreaker :0) Second, Just checking in to say - FELIZIDADES / CONGRATULATIONS - for deciding to take this life-changing step to becoming a more healthier you! I hope everything goes as planned and that you have a speedy recovery. Some words of advice: Please remember to keep positive thoughts at all times. When in doubt – ASK! Keep records of everything, including photos (makes a great scrapbook that you can look back on when you reach goal) and please keep your journal updated because you never know whom you might be helping. You will be in my thoughts. ~ Kelly

Congratulations, your special day is almost here! I suspect you are experiencing a range of emotions right now. The week before my surgery I was on a natural high, almost a euphoric state of mind. I couldn't believe I was getting that "second" chance ...to LIVE life again. I wish you all the success and happiness that comes with being healthier and thinner. Just remember your overall attitude plays a large role in your recovery, keep it POSITIVE and ask lots and lots of questions. This is a new learning experience for all that choose WLS and we draw so much from each other. There can be a few challenges along the way, but no worse then sitting on the sidelines - confined by our overweight shells. You're about to break free, enjoy and embrace all the wonderful "moments" that come with this journey. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery. "The key to happiness is dreams, the key to success is making those dreams come true" .....[I've lost 230 lbs with this surgery and have been at goal for a year now.
