Surgery is great everything is wonderful!!! Now I understand what happens to peoples profiles after they have surgery.  I've never been one to really keep up with this sorta thing, no offense my OH family *bows head in shame* but I've been so busy doing things, before I had a hard time leaving my house, now I have a hard time staying in.  I'm starting to love shopping again, slowly but surely I'm starting to spend paychecks on clothes, hehe.  I love to shop for the future, I got so many things for the summer it's ridiculous.
Ok now for the particulars, I had surgery on 12/13/2007 at 323, today is 3 months and 11 days later.  As of this morning I weighed in at 239, thats 84lbs.!!!!!! Woohoo, I'm so excited!  Starting measurements:
                Starting             Current
Bust           53                       42
Waist         50                       36
Hips           60                       46

DOS I was a size 26 pant, God knows what size shirt, by that time I just threw on my husbands t-shirts that were to small, but I think I was 3X.  Today, I'm size 18 and I can get my 16's on snug but can't button them yet, im in an XL shirt, I can fit a L but I still have some lump lumps to work out before I would feel comfortable.  Amazing to me I thought I would be cursed with big feet forever, I was an 11 before, now I'm a 9!  There are so many things I am thankful for with this surgery, it definitely hasn't been easy, some days are better than others, but most days are good.  I have no bad days just learning experiences, I appreciate every one of them.  I wouldn't change a thing!!!!!  I found it hard to say goodbye to cheesecake, sweet, thick, creamy, oh so comforting cheesecake, would I trade this to have my fave back? HELL TO THE NO!!!!! *gives cheescake the middle finger*  I'm my fave now!

Pictures coming soon
Hehe  :)

Well tomorrow I have an Echocardiogram at 2pm. Umm, I don't really have any feelings about that.  Since I have taken diet pills with Ephedra in them in the past, they want to make sure all is good with my heart.  I have a lot of appointments this week. . .let's see:

January 22 - Echocardiogram and CXR
January 29 - Upper GI
January 31 - Nutritionist Consult (1 of 4)
February 8  - Weight Management Class (1 of 3)
February 15- Weight Management Class (2 of 3)
February 22- Weight Management Class (3 of 3)

Welll I guess this is helpful for those of you who are going through the process at Balboa.  I don't know much about their program but I will be going to one of their meetings I think this week. I almost forgot, I have to schedule a Pap, almost 7 months overdue. Yikes!  And I need to lose 14 pounds, I've lost that plenty of times before and can do it again.  Hopefully if all stays the same I will have a date sometime after the 22 of February, yayy!

So I have a little time this morning before clinical and I thought I would post the things I would like to do when I'm thin post.  What inspired this is I found a tennis bracelet I bought when I was 20.  I hadn't seen it in several years, my dad brought it with him when he was here on a visit.  Needless to say it no longer fits, it fits like a diamond studded rubber band, that's sad, I got this for myself as a present for graduating from boot camp and A school, so here goes . . .

1.  Wear the tennis bracelet I bought as a present to myself. [  ]
2.  Put on one of my old uniforms and they fit. [  ]
3.  Weigh less than my husband. [  ]
4.  Sit down without everything squishing out. [  ]
5.  Tire my baby out before she tires me out. [  ]
6.  Wear a one piece bathing suit without anything over. [  ]
7.  Wear a two piece bathing suit without anything over. [  ]
8.  Go into any store I want because I know what's inside is fitting. [  ]
9.  Get another tattoo
10.Wear a dress or skirt that's above the knee. [  ]
11.Wear over the calf boots. . .and zip them. [  ]
12.Never need to step into Lane Bryant again. [  ]
13.Run a mile without physical stress. [  ]
14.Exercise without having everything bouncing everywhere. [  ]
15.Go out to eat without people looking at me like I don't need to be
      there. [  ]
16.Be able to go shopping with my daughter. [  ]
17.Not have to be concious of holding my stomach in. [  ]
18.Go to the beach and actually be relaxed. [  ]
19.Learn to surf. [  ]
20.Wear shorts without worrying about my legs. [  ]
21.Be happy with my entire self. [  ]
22.Get heels in my size, not 2 sizes to  big because of my wide feet. [  ]
23.Vacation in Puerto Rico and dance till sunrise. [  ]
24.Dance all night without my feet swelling up 2 sizes. [  ]
25.Dance all night. [  ]
26. My husband able to pick me up. [  ]
27.Not get winded going up our stairs. [  ]
28.Not feel undeserving to do something. [  ]
29.Know I look good. [  ]
30.Wear pant/skirt suit with the SAME SIZE top AND bottom. [  ]
31.Wear a track suit without lumps. [  ]
32.Not think about my weight any where near as much as I do now. [  ]

Sure there will be more to come, but gotta run!

Had my first consult today with the bariactric program at Balboa.  The nurse practitioner was really nice and incredibly helpful, answered all of my questions.  I have to get a psych eval and a couple nutritionist consults, an upper GI, Chest Xray and an echocardiogram.  I hope to have my surgery soon after I graduate in February.  All of the medical appointments I have in the next 2 weeks, the nutrition classes are going to take over a month because I have three.  I'm just glad the process is progressing in the right direction.  Yayyyyyyyyy me!

Well I found out from Tricare I was approved today.  My doctor isn't going to be Dr. Owens, I have to go to Balboa here in San Diego becaus eI guesss they have a bariactric program and a surgeon.  That's what stinks, I have had some really horrible experiences with military doctors.  I just don't like them.  If this person is practicing or otherwise doesn't have the experience I think is appropriate, I will request another doctor because that is a safety issue.  All to many times I run into military doctors that have an 'oh well' attitude about your life.  Well not with mine, I'm not going to risk my life for incompetence.  Anyway, I have an appointment on the 9th.  Let's see how this goes and I will let you all know how it goes.  Hopefully this is a blessing in disguise.

Finally found a Tricare PCM that would give me a referral!

Jan 01, 2007

This is a little late, but I had to change my PCM with Tricare 3 times before I found a doctor to refer me to Dr. Owens for WLS.  I had the appointment on December 26, so I am hoping and praying for good news from Tricare when I call in the morning.  This surgery has been such a blessing to many people, I hope to be a recipient as well!
