17 years since my gastric bypass today!

Oct 16, 2020

My once a year check in!  Still doing great and keeping my weight stable at 130 to 132.  Happy with that.  I just like to post this once a year on the anniversary of my surgery to let new post ops know that this can be maintained long term. I turned 60 this year and happy with my continued success after regaining a couple of times and getting it back under control.  Hang in there, it can work for you too!

15 Years anniversary!

Oct 16, 2018

Today marks 15 Years since my surgery. I am doing well and through a lot of walking, I am keeping my weight around 135. For you newbies, long term success is possible but you have to be diligent. I regained some weight twice but was able to take it back off. Good luck everyone!

14 years out today!!

Oct 16, 2017

it has been 14 years today! I weigh the same as I did on my 10 year anniversary. 145. I did regain again to almost 180 pounds but was able to lose it again with hard work and determination and lots of salad!!

I just want to say to newer post-ops that long term success is possible but it just takes determination asnd a lifelong commitment to changing your eating habits for the rest of your life. That's the bottom line, you can never go back to eating like you did before or you will gain. And exercise! I walk every day now on all my breaks at work and it has helped me get back to 145!

Good luck everyone on your personal journey!
