Starting Over!!!

It has been a long 2 years!! I got my lap band January 19, 2009 and I have lost a whopping 18 pounds. I did really well the first few months and then I started getting fills. It took a few fills to get me to the point that I could feel the restriction. I did good once I could only eat a little but once November of 2009 came I could hardly hold down mashed potatoes. I thought I was just to tight so I went to have my Doc. look at what was going on and she decided to take all the fluid out. I was very upset with that. I only had to have the fluid out for about a week and then we started the whole thing over again. When I get fills it gets very swollen so I have to take it easy the first week. So after about 4 or 5 fills this year and going through losing 10 pounds and then gaining it back over the course of a couple weeks, with following the diet 100% I'm DONE!!!!
I talked with Dr. Parnell and I have decided to get a revision from the band to the Gastric Sleeve. I have to wait until my insurance switches over at the beginning of the year to submit the letter of medical necessity but I thing I can wait another month. I am super excited about this and I think it will be a good thing. However I'm a little nervous cause my Doc has never done a sleeve before. I'm not going to be the first that's for sure (I think she is doing a few before the first of the year) but I want to get it done sooner than later.
I am ready to get the weight off and have a weight-loss surgery that works for me this time. Sometimes when I think about it, how the band didn't work for me I feel like a failure. Then when Dr. Parnell told me that it works for half of the people that get it and the other half can try everything under the sun and it not work for them. So I guess that makes me feel a little better.
I am ready to get the show on the road and get it done.... now I just have to get a few people to realize that it will be the best thing for me!!!!!
