Bike riding!

Apr 21, 2015

I've gotten to ride my bike twice. Not very far, the first time just around the block, the second a few more. My hips hurt and of course I got winded, but all in all, it has been fun! Right now, we are in the middle of a cold snap and the winds have been fierce, so it will be about a week for the temps to get nice again.

I really need to get to the gym.....no excuses! Gotta build up my leg muscles....my hips and knees still hurt, even with the 130 pounds gone. Another thing that hurts is my tailbone! By the end of the day I relish laying down just to get the pressure off of it.

I ended up cutting my hair shorter, myself. And then I bleached it....too orangey...so I colored it with an ash blonde. Looks pretty good now. I have been taking the Biotin and I think it is working. I already have 1/4 inch roots and only did my coloring about a week and a half ago.

Went to Kmart yesterday and they had their winter/spring clothes on clearance. I found three pairs of pants, two 24W's and one 2X....they fit perfectly. I also found a blouse in 4X which I am happy to say is big for me! What I really need is a new boulder-holder.....bra. :o) I just got my first charge card....at Kohls....and am going to see if I can find a few items there. I think I'm becomming a clothes horse!

Time flies....fat's a melting!

Mar 30, 2015

WOW! It's been a while since I've posted on here. I am now down to 284 and can fit into a size 24W pants. Never thought it would be possible.   I'm having trouble trying to keep up with my shrinking out of my pants.

I have noticed my hair is thinning and lacks luster. The NUT said to take Biotin....gonna try it, since I had my hair butchered by a stylist and would like to get it to grow.

Hello 200's!

Feb 22, 2015

I am below 300......297 in fact. Last time I saw the 200's was when I was 16 and had been put on a diet when I was in the hospital. I wish I could say that my knees and hips felt better, but they are still complaining after I sit for too long. I just finished making a new swimsuit, so I plan on getting back to the YMCA and start working out. Gotta get my leg muscles built up for bike riding in the spring. 😥

Is that really my reflection???

Jan 17, 2015

I have been able to see my reflection in some windows lately and I think I'm becoming a bit narcissistic!   I mean.....where did my butt and hips go? I guess that is where the 104 lbs. came off.

I am 1 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I feel great! No pain, half dose of regular acetaminophen occasionally, craving every food in the world......yep, life is good! Had to raid my mother's closet for smaller clothes today. A lot of the stuff she wears is sloppy on her, so they are almost my size.

Bought a bike for myself yesterday, just a cheapie. I hope my weight (by the time I get to ride it in the spring) is down about 25 more pounds, so the bike won't break. I know it will be slow going to get my legs back, so I might have to ride a few blocks, then rest.

One more pound to go for 100 lost!

Jan 10, 2015

I never thought I could do it! I think this calls for a celebration......maybe I'll get out my new makeup and give it a go. I need a new pic for my avatar to keep up with my progress.

Still having the shoulder pain....gotta get this gas to leave my body!

On to protein shakes again!

Jan 08, 2015

I am on phase 3, protein drinks. Thank goodness! I got a big bottle of body fortress strawberry and it is so yummy! It was on sale at Walmart last week for 16.98??, so I bought a strawberry and a vanilla. I'm glad I did. On Wednesday next week I get to reintroduce oatmeal back to my diet....yeah! And then another week and it will be the puree phase. I can't wait until I can eat some veggies....I soooo miss them! A salad sounds so good right now! LOL

Pain isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The gas rummbling in the tummy is the most worrisome....not sure when I'm going to need to go to the bathroom. They gave me some medicine for nausea and to make the bowel move.....haven't needed that yet.

So, all in all, it went great.

I made it through surgery!

Jan 06, 2015

I'm doing pretty good, but keep falling asleep. I had to push myself to walk the halls, but it has snapped me out of being sleepy. So, I made it through! :-)

90 pounds gone!....before surgery

Dec 27, 2014

I offically hit the 90 pounds lost mark today. I am very proud of myself and never thought I could do it!

Monday is one week till the surgery. Yes, I'm getting scared, excited and anxious, all in the same breath. I know everything will go allright, I'm just worried about the pain. I am going to try going without a lot of the pain medication....I have a high pain threshold and don't like to rely on medication. We shall see......

I am actually having a hard time drinking all four shakes a day. I would rather have more bullion since I'm not a sweets person. I have aclually found that I like oatmeal plain and that is what I have for dinner. I just whish I could have some veggies! That sounds wierd comming out of my mouth!

Well, gotta go to the store and get some more skim milk!

Getting excited!!!

Dec 19, 2014

Well, I start my two week liquid diet on Monday. The first week consists daily of four shakes, one "normal" food (oatmeal, yogurt, SF pudding, etc....), three 15 calorie items such as broth and SF popscicles, and all the water/flavored water I want. Christmas dinner will be a (sorta) egg nog flavored shake and a cup of broth. :-)

Second week is going to be a bit harder. The doc wants me to drink this stuff called Impact. It has stuff in it which helps get the body ready for surgery. It cost me 43 plus shipping. I get to drink two of these plus one protein shake a day. I can do it, I can do it......

My weight loss has been hovering between 80 and 85 pounds. I think it will get a kick in the pants next week! Speaking of pants....I am running out of things to wear. Most of my pants are (almost) falling off me, which is a good feeling. I went to see my family doc on Wednesday and she was very impressed with my weightloss. She made the comment that I don't need to have the surgery now. I told her it is my stop gap, because I would just revert back to my old habbits of eating if I didn't get the surgery. Needless to say, she cleared me for the surgery.

Now, I need to start getting things packed, so I won't forget anything because I know I will, still.

Proud of myself!

Nov 19, 2014

It is offical.....I have lost 75 pounds on my own, before surgery. I'm not even on the liquid diet yet.....that is for Christmas week and New years. I am still having troubles getting some exercise.....getting my tushy into gear.

Since I live 60 miles away from the hospital doing my surgery, and live in snow country (Michigan), I have been thinking about getting a hotel room for the night before. That way, if we have a big snow fall, I can (slowly mind you) make my way to the hotel, and then I will have a short drive to the hospital. The only problem is, will I be able to drive home after surgery? I think I will post this question on one of the boards and see what people answer. My other alternative would be to have my sister drive me the day of, and I would hate to bother her, not to mention leaving the house at 5 in the morning! :o)
