I have been gaining weight since I was seven years old as well as having other symptoms of PCOS/Insulin Resistance. I started having dark patches of skin around the base of my neck when I was around 15 or 16. The people around me would call it a "grandmother's necklace". No matter how much I scrubed it the dark patch never went away.  By the time I finished high school I was 323 lbs. which was a BMI of 47.7. I kept gaining weight after high school. I never felt full when I ate. I was unable to weigh myself at my heaviest weight because I did not have access to a scale that could weigh me at the time, but I believe I was over 450 lbs. I believe that was the case because when I felt like I had lost some weight I weighed in at 441 lbs. at a doctors office. I have gotten back down to 420 lbs. before I started my current diet.
I recently read in First magazine about a woman who weighed 570 lbs. and lost 420 lbs. She did it by going on a Whey and Soy shake diet.I had an appointment for reapproval for lapband surgery on February 21, 2008, but I thought I would try this diet before I went to go through with the surgery. I started this diet on February 5, 2008, and as of February 11, 2008 , I have lost 9.4 lbs.  In addition to the weight loss I have noticed physical changes as well. The physical changes are: My face is less round, my hair is shinier and healthier, my skin is shinier, the dark patches on my skin are disappearing, the hair on my chin is disappearing, and my shoulders are a little less broad. Also I have not had a period in about a year, and within 2 days of starting this diet I started having a period. It's only been about a week, but so far it is working well.
