Hi!!! My name is Aftan and I am 25 years old. About this time last year (November 2006) and at around 280 lbs. I decided that I was tired of losing my life long battle with my weight. I had seen from both sides of my family what poor health can cause. I wanted a better life and was off in pursuit of finding out how. My mother and 2 of my aunts had the the gastric by pass surgery. I know a lot about it and the positive and negative outcomes of the surgery. Kaiser requires that their patients take a 24 week course to be completely knowledgeble about the life changing decision they will be making. During the course of the class, Kaiser has approved the Lap Band system. I started diligently looking for more information about this WLS. I really want to have this surgery done.* I am very excited and can't wait to finally kick fat in the butt! Lol!
