I've looked into bariatric surgery back in 1999 while I was living in PA.  I went as far as registering for the seminar but chickened out at the last minute.  This  happened again in 2003, right after some kids threw rocks at me and called me names while their parents laughed (some people are just RUDE!!).  Why did I chicken out?  All I could think about was the mouse food with a side order of bird seed.  I'm not bothered by that anymore.  However, I am concerned about the skin issue.  I asked my husband how he would feel about me when I looked like a wax figure melting in the sun.  He's not concerned, but I am.  They don't make Victorian bathing suits anymore....

On the lighter side, hopefully my back and knee won't hurt anymore.  I truly believe my back and knee problems are from being overweight.  My breathing will definitely improve since I will have to quit smoking before surgery.   I need to lose this weight, since I am older and have a very young child who needs her exercise and needs a mom who won't be missing softball games because of a bum knee and back.    I am also concerned about diabetes and heart issues which run on both sides of my family.  I definitely hope to avoid these problems.  Also, hopefully no more rock throwing and "moo's" coming from both children and adults (rude, rude, RUDE!!).

I have my first consult on Sept 04, 08.  I'm not apprehensive at all about it.  Just wonder what the psyche test is all about... could it be like the one I took before I started working at the power plant years ago?  If so, GREAT!  Laughed at alot of the questions.  It was quite entertaining, really.
