My weight loss journey began at age 11, when I began to realize that I was bigger than other kids. After 3 years and 6 different doctors, I was finally diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Insulin Resistance. I spent years going up and down on the scale, eventually giving up because hunger became the best of me.

In March of 2009, I'd had enough. I was always scared to go to the doctor because they would weigh me, and I had a phobia of scales. I finally made a doctors appointment to get my body under control. By my surgery date, I had lost 60 lbs in 5 months and felt like a different person.

I had the laproscopic sleeve gastrectomy. I know that there will be bumps in the road, but with a support system and the internet...I will meet these challenges head on!
