Just back from Tijuana....

I just returned from a quick trip down across the border for a follow up visit with my surgeon. Wow it was easy...We (my hubby and another lady from Phoenix) left very early around 5am for the drive to San Diego, where we met another lady, and we parked the car at the border and walked across and took a cab maybe 5 minutes to the center. We then met his patient coordinator Elsa who took us across the street to this incredible Fish Restaurant called Lion Fish. Being a cater I am not easily impressed with food, but I have to say ever since I was down there for my surgery and they took me to eat there, I have thought about how great it will be to take my hubby there when I come for my post op. Well all of us went and we had a wonderful lunch as we waited for Dr Gutierrez to arrive. We even had some Mexican beer (we didn't tell the good Doctor about that!) He joined us and also had lunch we must have been there for at least 2 hours allowing for everyone to get more acquainted. We then went across the street back to the Clinic where I went first and was told everything looks great. I still have a lot of swelling in the tummy. The back sides are completely healed with no raised scaring at all and just a fine pencil thin scar line. Could not be happier. I was told I still have 7 weeks left of wearing the "garment" Oh well at least this stage two garment feels so much better than the first stage one. Next it was time for the other ladies, where he spent as much time with each of them as they needed answering all their questions and even marking them to show them just what he would be doing for them. I have never known another doctor to give so much of his time like this. And did I mention, he graciously picked up the whole tab for our lunch! By now it was well into the evening so a quick taxi ride to the border and a not so quick wait for customs we were back in the car and then back to our San Diego hotel at 10pm so it was a full day to say the least!
