50 lbs gone as of today!!

I'm FINALLY there!!

Having a gastric bypass is simply one of the best decisions I've made in a long time!  It amazes me how much better I'm feeling already!  I did have one small issue that fortunately was easily fixed.  After my postop education class where we were told we could eat & what, I fixed chicken for dinner & a tiny piece ended up getting stuck.  Needless to say it scared me ALOT & it's obvious my pouch is NOT yet ready for that so I'll be holding off for quite a while on that. 

The past 2 months now seem to have gone by very fast & I'm happy to say that I will be having my surgery at 10 am tomorrow!  I'm just hoping my hubby is alright while I'm in there.  He's super worried even though I've reassured him multiple times a day, every day for at least the past month.  I'm very confident that I have the best Dr. & I've even made him read up on her so that he knows this too. 

......and boy was today ever a BAD day!  My cute little '06 Scion XB that I love SOOOO much got wrecked......AGAIN.  This time though I don't think it's going to be able to be fixed.  A young girl with a car full of other young girls made a left had turn in front of me & as hard as I tried I couldn't avoid hitting her.  The impact literally tore the entire front end off my car & shoved the radiator into the motor & shoved everything down the passenger side of the car so much that that entire side was rippled.  I'm glad no one was seriously injured but I am still pretty shook up & heartbroken.  I just got my car back barely 2 months ago from the last kid that hit me!  He claims he didn't see me.....riiiight.  :(  I know it's just a car but it's one that I truly loved & considered a fun little car.  This brings now a total of 7 accidents - NONE of which have been my fault - in the past 7 yrs.  I really hope this streak of bad luck is over for me.  Once again my sweet husband got to the scene in no time & handled everything or I definitely would have lost it. 

13 days away!! I'm terribly excited & just can't wait!! Fortunately I don't have to worry about being on just straight liquids until just a couple of days from surgery.  I'm starting to pick up stuff that I can eat when I come home & also things that my husband can fix in little time for himself because I'm sure I'm not going to feel up to cooking for him for few days.

I have to say that the past few days have literally been going so fast it's almost shocking!  I'm only 19 days away from the beginning of my new chane at life!!  I had my preop education class yesterday & learned alot from it.  Next is my appointment with my surgeon which was originally scheduled for the 19th, then they changed it to today, the 12th, & now yesterday they called me again & pushed it back out to the 26th! grrrrrr..........!  I understand this change - my surgeon has the flu - but it's just frustrating!  When I talked to the office yesterday about today's appointment change I was told they're TRYING to find a place they can fit me in before my scheduled surgery on 5/31 or they may have to push me out on that date!  Needless to say I kind of flipped.  If they can "push" me out then they can "push" someone else out to keep my scheduled date!  I told them that my husband has a very difficult time getting time off due to his position at work & this late in the game changing my surgery date & his time off for this isn't possible.  As a side note ~ this is NOT the first time they've bounced my appointments around like this & it irritates the hell out of me!!!!  

Heading to Scottsdale to do all my preop tests this morning. This does seem to be going alot quicker thank goodness! 

28 days to go!!! 

.....was a pretty good day considering it was literally nothing but homework.  I'll be so glad when this semester is over!  It's been a tough one to say the least! 

34 days to go!!!!!!!! 

I've been up since 4am!  Ran a bunch of errands & sooo wanted to stop for some fast food on my way home but I fought the urge & came home & made a protein shake instead.  The guilt that I would feel after eating a burger or something else that I shouldn't was in the back of my mind telling me "DO NOT do it!  You'll regret it as soon as you eat it!"  The protein shake was much yummier anyway!
