Let's see where do I begin...I was always a big girl but I also had a set of twin sisters who were very tiny ..even to this day they both are size 0 so since the time I was teen I was told Oh if you could just loose a few pounds you would be so pretty...2 kids 2 husbands later I find myself at my all time highest 223 IM 44 yrs old how did this happen ...I like sweets ...so a few months ago I ran into a fellow flight attendant who had already lost 100 ...she gave me the name of Dr Simon and said I would never regret it ..so here I am ..I hit the internet reading everything I could on this surgery...thats how I found this site...
I made an appt with Dr Simon a few days later my dear friend attended with me we were going to do this as buddies ( Hmm she gave up before her one on one) 4 hrs in his session I knew this was for me ...I made my appt that day for my one on one in the mean time I got my psch eval done along with that test MMPI2 test or whatever it is ...ya know the one where they ask you in 101 ways if you love your parents do you drink or do drugs or hate yourself ...LOL..I got my initial bloodwork done ..and got all of my medical records faxed over ..I was on the ball by my first appt Dr Simon had all of my info blood work and eval ...next came that endoscopy ...ekkkkk ( I was awake the drugs did not knock me out) the next day They called to tell me that my stuff was on the way to United Health Care...Yippie ...then it hit me OMG what if they do not approve me ...THEY did ..just a few days later and my date is set ...Oct 30th 2007 at 0730 I had my preop blood work and ultra sound done on Oct 19..no doubt they are going to take my gallbladder ( I call it a gizard) it has issues she told me LOL ..
My family is Ok with my choice now they say Oh you are fine the way you are ...I have a cuz who had this done and he had major complications so of course my family has some issues..My best friend of over 35 yrs is upset that I have made this choice but she is ultra thin and made the comment well I like my fat friend just the way she is ..sorry I dont !! and its my choice..of course she has tries to freak me out ..but I know the odds and I know that Im going to do this right ..Im tired of going to the Dr for my medical issues ...I have been to the Dr more in the past 2 yrs then I have the past 20 ...I tried to tell myself it was because I hit the age of 44 but lets face it ...IM Obese...

I live in Fresno CA but I work in Phoenix Az where I am a Flight Attendant you drive to work I simply take a jet .I am engaged to a wonderful man Ive known since I was in 3rd grade ...and his mom was my 4th grade teacher..We met up again at our class reunion 3 yrs ago ...ya just never know what you will find at a class reunion ...we are one of 5 couples who met up who are getting or have gotten married..he supports me a 100 % so now my journey begins...
