Happy Two Year Anniversary To Me!

Feb 06, 2014

Hello All

I haven't been on here in ages but felt today was a special day to reconnect. This is The lowest I have ever been at 163.50lbs today :D a total of 145lbs lost from my highest weight and 115.5 since surgery date Feb 6, 2012.

I haven't lost much this past year keep gaining and losing the same 4lbs but for the first time in my life I have been stable. I just returned from my second trip to Peru and hiked the mountain of death Wayna Picchu at Machu Picchu this time. Still single but loving life and many adventures.

Wishing you the very best on your weight loss journey

ONEderLand

Aug 26, 2012

have been traveling for over three weeks now and haven't been near a scale (kind of freeing in a way)  I am at my Moms now and IF her scale is correct. She says it is. I have reached ONEderland today. I am six and a half months out from surgery and include the 20lbs I lost preop in January. Woohoo!! I will take it  I have lost 10" from both my waist and hips. Have gone from an Addition-Elle 4x tops to a women's large and size Addition-Elle 22-24 pants to a 14-18 boy there is sure a lot of discrepancy in pant sizes but I focus on what fits not the numbers

Happy Four Month Anniversary to Me

Jun 06, 2012

June 6 is my four month anniversary and I hit my half way goal of 75lbs lost yesterday. My daughter graduates on June 16 and I was hoping to be down 80lbs by then. I am sure I can lose 5 lbs in next ten days.

I am very pleased with the difference 4 months has made. Though I must admit I didnt really feel like I had lost weigh until last week. All of a sudden within 2-3 weeks I went from a size 20 pant (a litte baggy) and 3x tops to a size 16 pant and 1x tops. People are starting to notice.

I have had my photos taken at a couple of events lately and can see the difference in my face. I will try to post pictures soon. I have been living on other people photos through the past year and a half and really appreciate thsoe that post pictures. Thank you

Things to Celebrate
- I flew on an airplane and had about 4 inches of belt dangle vs stretching it to the end and sucking it in to get it done up. Did not feel like my thighs were encroaching on the seat beside me.
- I can walk much farther without getting winded 2km no problem.
- My balance is better
- I dont get pissed off if I have to park on the other side of the parking lot and walk
- My BMI dropped from 49.7 to 37.20
- My waist dropped from 46" to 39.5"
- My hips dropped from 56" to 48.5"
- Bra size from 40-42DDD-E to 38DD
- My old foods no longer seem appealing and I rarely think about them.

Goals to Reach For
- Other than walking a couple of times a week I haven't been exercising. Need to pick that up
- Drink more water

Two more months before I leave for my sabbatical. I hope to be down another 20-25lbs by then and reach onderland. I am so excited to be able to travel and not have the weight encumber and inhibit me from exploring all I want to explore and do all I want to do on this adventure. My first stop is Peru. I can't wait to walk the Maachu Pichu grounds ... then off to Mexico to dive for 9 months.

I'm Obese

Apr 28, 2012

I am 11weeks out, May 6 will be my three month anniversary. As of this morning am down 61lbs (including preop)
And my BMI has dropped from Extremely Obese 49.7 to Obese 39.6

Things are going well I feel fine. I am down a couple of sizes people are starting to notice more, I am just now seeing a difference. I feel like I can move easier and walking doesn't leave me as winded or parking on the other end of the parking lot doesn't leave me irritated. I seem to be losing in steps and just came out of a slow two weeks. Now dropped three pounds in two days. Monthly cycles seem to really affect this just had two 8 day cycles two weeks apart. Must be all the hormone releasing from the fat LOL but hope there isn't another one in two weeks.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Today is a Good Day

Apr 04, 2012

After what seems like a two week stall, I have lost about 1-2 lbs per week recently, I decided to smarten up a couple of days ago. Things really slowed down as I was eating more solids but i wasnt enjoying food much and often felt off after eating. And I giving in to some carbs the last couple of weeks, for no apparent reason or desire but did... My b/f keeps chips in the house so every night I would have about 6 but never felt very good afterwards. The good new is its only six where I would have eaten the whole bag before but... I  think it slowed me down.  Then my water intake was dropping.

So I went back to two protein drinks a day which automatically increased my water intake, made me full and stopped the snacking. No to mention the lecture I gave myself  My tummy feels satisfied and not sickly after eating a heavier substance. I have really noticed recently that my taste buds are changing. Foods that were once appealing chips/fries no longer taste good and even when I go to a restaurant for soup with friends it seems so salty.

Sooo today ... I broke 250 I am now 249 and officially down 50 lbs since my pre-op diet started on January 10, 2012. I will be two months out on Friday April 6 and have met my 50lb goal for my two month anniversary. Oh and I put on a hoodie for work today that I bought in Las Vegas four years ago. It fits very well zipped up  Today is a  good day.

Great Weekend ~ Day 28

Mar 04, 2012

I am doing well. I have a good weekend and adjusting to adding some real food LOL and seeing how my will power and tummy are inter acting. They seem to have a good relationship. I have been back to work for two weeks it's almost like I never left. This week there was more mental habit issues than hunger. I had a mid term last tues and spent the previous weekend studying. I used to always munch during studying so really felt like something was missing. I seemed to be craving crunchy stuff or chips or something.
This weekend Fri night I met the girls at the pub we had a great visit while I sipped tea. Sat I went for lunch with a friend and had a partial bowl of broccoli soup and today I went to my step moms Birthday party dinner. They ordered Chinese take out so I picked some chicken (maybe 2oz at the most) out of one of the stir frys, and one broccoli crown with 1 tbsp chow mien and one piece of ginger beef. Looked like less than 4 tbsp on my plate. That got got giggles but my family has been very good about it. One bite of cake and I was completely satisfied. As I can't be certain of calories I under eat my sleeve and had a cheese stick when I got home.

What I am trying to say is that my sleeve hasn't affected my activities or socializing. Which I am very happy about. Food is secondary to good company and activities.

I have been trying to weigh once a week but I only lost two lbs last week, figured i was in a stall then TOM arrived. So stepped on it today and am down two since Friday 35 in total since Jan 10. Tues is my one month anniversary

Day 24

Mar 01, 2012

Things are going pretty well. Thank goodness for this forum and all of the insights. I am down 31 lbs overall. Since my preop in January. I gained six while I was in the hospital lost that plus 11lbs so 17 since surgery. I was starting to get a little nuts with the scale as I had not lost anything over the weekend. The dreaded three week stall has arrived it appears. So I promised myself I would do the once a week thing. Tomorrow is weigh day. I have been pretty good at increasing my fluids by 500ml to 1 litre (32oz)  this week to help... We will see how it goes.

My main go to food high protein has been cottage cheese, love chicken broth with an egg in it and sugar free popsicles. At one point a week ago I thought my sleeve was way too big as I could drink 1.5-2 cups of broth no problem. This week on more solid food I know that is not the case. Made a scrambled egg for supper with 2 tbsp cottage cheese on top but could only eat half.

Premier Protein is my all time favorite protein drink. The BariWise Creamy Cappuccino is great as well. I am not cleared for meat for a couple of more days. Although will admit I have snuck a couple of bites of ham and jerky but that is it. When my head hunger got to me ... for a couple of items I caved in. Such as KD made a box the other night when I would normally eat the whole box maybe two. I prepared it in all its cheesy glory with salsa and was able to eat three bites. Got it out of my system and when my tummy said no and I didn't want it any more. Learning new stuff everyday and trying to be patient. It took 20 years to put this weight on, I know its not going to disappear overnight but I really want it to.

Day 13

Feb 18, 2012

Day 13 and things are going pretty well. Really high dark purple keystones today. So I know I am burning but scale isn't showing drastic changes but then I have only been home a week. Fluid intake is about right on at 2litres/64 oz per day but this includes all liquids not just water. I would like to increase this. I like chicken broth and that has been warm and comforting but adding the Unjury chicken flavor Protien powder  (I added some hot sauce drops that helped the flavour and tummy was ok) and other protein powders to stuff is not appetizing. Never thought I would see the day when I had to force myself to eat. Half a scoop of vanilla Protien in 1/2 cup of yogurt is pretty good.  I will try some cottage cheese for the first time later today. So far my favorite breakfast is the Premier Protien premixed shake for flavor and texture. I have been adding water and instant coffee or torani syrup for different taste combinations.
I tried some V8 creamy style carrot soup yesterday and it was good but the 1 cup serving size is 28 g of carbs which is the whole day in one serving. Any suggestions on other brands that are lower in carbs?

Thank you Julie

Feb 12/12 Update

Feb 15, 2012

The flight home was ok but flight 2.5 hrs delayed so with the three hr car ride from Mexicali to San Diego by the time I got to Edmonton about 15 hours of travel made for a long day.

Mexicali is a rural town in the middle of the desert two hours south east of San Diego, in the opposite direction of Tijuana. I believe they said it was about an hour south of Yuma Arizona. I felt absolutely safe and would go back in a heart beat. Can't say enough good things about my experience at the hospital. The town is in transition there is an older part which is run down and a little dilapidated and the new part where the hospital and Crowne Plaza hotel was. Even the older part was not as run down and dirty as some areas I saw near Chichen Itza.

Recovery is going well. I went for my first walk today. One incision is a little sore but otherwise ok. A little gassy today and working on getting my second liter of water in.  Went to the Legion Valentines Breakfast with my bf today with my protein drink while he had breakfast and was fine sipping away while everyone else was eating. Thought it might bother me more.
