The heaviest weight that I ever recorded was 362.4lbs on November 1st 2005, which was really the beginning of my WLS journey, I just didnt know it yet. I joined WW on that day, and worked for over 16 months to lose the weight. I have kept all those records from weight watchers too btw. Eventually I talked to my doctor and we submitted paperwork for my surgery. I was approved on August 6th and my surgery was scheduled for September 18th, eventually it was moved up and I got the date of September 11th 2007. My new birthday!
Before the surgery I had been lucky I did not have high cholersterol or high blood pressure. I had however been having issues with my back and my knee almost all my life, I am happy now those problems are things of the past!
Before the surgery I thought about having bypass surgery for a while but was always to scared to do it, or thought I could correct the problem with out my tool. I have family that has had the surgery my mother in 1986, my father in 1985, and my aunt in 2003. Before the surgery I was really starting to worry about where I would be in 10years, so I had a really long talk with my husband and a really long talk with my PCP and we started paperwork for the surgery.
I am really lucky to have such a great support system, my great husband, and my mother in law are around all the time. My mother lives in another state but she is always just a phone call away when I need her.
