This is my story. I'm a 36 years old, married, stay at home mom of two children ages 9 and 11 and I'm just plain FAT. I tried to act like it wasn't happening but  I'm getting bigger and bigger. I was not a fat kid and I can not blame it on my kids or marriage. I was in the best shape of my life after my last child. I am though, a chronic dieter. I first took diet pills in high school and used them on and off for 10 years. I would also get on a "work out kick" and would work out like crazy and could not maintain it. I am really depressed about my weight. I use to feel so pretty and special. I don't even know who this person is in the mirror.  So in July, after thinking about our summer family vacation, I told myself  "no more, I'm looking into WLS". The funniest thing happened, I started to feel relief right after that moment. I called a surgeon and attened the seminar two days before summer vacation. During the summer vacation I kept telling myself  "THIS IS YOUR LAST FAT SUMMER". Being overweight well at least very overweight is so hard. I think people underestimate how hard it is and I'm sick of it. Come to find out I really am "sick" over it. I did the sleep study and found I have sleep apnea acid reflux and my childhood asthma has returned. After my call back from my surgeon to set up the intial appt. Iwas told my letter to the insurance. company would be sent. I was sent to the sleep lab for an overnight visit that I really enjoyed (remember I'm a stay- at- home mom and being alone is always fun for me) I was told my insurance had not been sent for approval because the Bailey Medical Center, the only hospital that my Dr. uses in in contract negotiations with United Health Care. To make a long story short after a month the contract was signed and from yesterday morning until today I went from thinking it may not happen to having a surgery date and 7 other appts. I could'nt be any happier right now.  I can't wait to be a loser.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
