I Gotta Date!

I have decided to go with Dr. Castro and have my band removed and a Sleeve Revision done on the same day. My date of surgery is my wonderful husband's Birthday, August 26th at 10 am CST. I will be in the hospital for 2 days.

My insurance Premera BCBS approved the removal of the band and I am paying the difference between the extra work Dr. Castro has to do in order to convert it to a Sleeve Surgery and the additional 2 days in the hospital as a standard Lap Band Removal is only day surgery. So insurance will pay 100% of the band removal part and anything to fix scar tissue or gallbladder issues, etc and I will pay $8,000 for my part to change to the sleeve.

I continue to appleal BCBS to get them to cover the sleeve as they still consider it experimental. IF they approve me I will be reimbursed! :) I'm sooooooo excited and scared. Dr. Castro estimates I will lose 80lbs with the sleeve putting me around 145 with anything beyond that hard work on my side. :) I can live with that!
