Forest Park Medical Center

"I was happy with my post-op care. Pre-op was a different story. I wanted to cancel this surgery. I actually changed my mind while being transported to the OR. I made it very clear to the staff verbally by saying over and over that I had changed my mind by making ALL of the following statements, " "Don't touch me" "leave me alone" "I want to go home", etc. My surgeon was not there, I believe he was washing up preparing for surgery. Even though I told them WITHOUT ANY DRUGS IN MY SYSTEM that I no longer wished to continue they simply knocked me out and continued. I am now left to live life after a surgery I did NOT want and had taken consent away from. Again, I do NOT blame my surgeon as he had no idea. I am very upset with the fact I feel I was made to continue even though I told them I no longer wanted the surgery and had changed my mind. The pre-op staff and Anesthesiologist did not listen to what I wanted and for that I am forever stuck in a body I no longer want. I am in a deep depression from this and often have flashbacks when I see bright lights and have many nightmares. I would not wish this on anyone."

Manuel E. Castro-Arreola

"I had my very first consultation with Dr. Manuel Castro today. As others have commented, he is very soft spoken and knows his stuff. He is very familiar with the problems those of us with older Lap Bands are facing. Dr. Castro was very patient and gave us plenty of time to answer any questions we had."
