My best wishes for a safe and successful surgery. I hope all goes well for you and that you have a problem free recovery and a rapid weight loss. I had my open rny in Oct. 2001 and have lost 215 lbs already and am at my goal. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! This surgery had made a wonderful change in my life and I feel so good now it is unbelievable. I was using a cpap for my sleep apnea now I sleep like a baby and my wife says that I don't even snore anymore!! Good luck to you on your surgery and recovery. Barbara, It took me almost a week to register my first weight loss because of the fluid build up. Then I lost about 5 pounds in one day. The first week I lost 11 pounds, the second week 6 pounds and the third week 8 pounds. My scale will go down two or three pounds in one day, and then shoot back up. It was a little depressing at first but now I know to expect it and it doesn't bother me. Good luck to you and congratulations on your surgery!

Congrats on approaching the start of your journey! It's an exciting time for sure. Remember to walk soon after your surgery - that same night. It is very, very hard the first time but each time, it gets much easier. Take care and post when you're home!
