bariatric_bombshell

I spent the majority of my life being labeled as "morbidly obese" however, I no longer let that label define the woman that I am.

My weight climbed to 430 lbs following the birth of 3 children. I was having difficulties with walking, breathing and my blood sugars - although I was never diagnosed as a diabetic.

After seeing a friend posting pictures of her success with gastric bypass, I decided that pursuing the operation would be my only chance at seeing my kids grown up.

In December 2011, I attended my information seminar and in Feb, I entered the program at my local hospital. After jumping through all the hoops, I was wheeled back into surgery on 8-6-2012...best decision ever.

It was not easy, I had complications which resulted in a second operation and a horrible recovery but it was worth it and yes, I would do it all over again.

This lifestyle has become my passion as I have become an advocate, who is passionate about helping others pursue their own journey. I am a full time student who is currently seeking a degree in Health Exercise Science. My future plans involve opening centers that cater to Bariatric patients.

This surgery has given me my life back and my number one goal is to pay it forward to the next person who is seeking help.
