Basically just tired of the losing the battle. I have been interested in WLS for years. My insurance excluded for years. I lost a bunch on my own, multiple times, but.... I just can't keep it off. I have gained it all back. I am ready. I am 42 years old. I have 4 kids, 3 cats, 2 dogs and my husband.
I started this process in Oct. 2008. I begain investigating my insurance and my options. My intent was to get a LapBand. I went to a seminar in November. I realized about half way through that I was a better canidate for the bypass surgery. I came to another seminar with my husband and best friend in December. Decided that bypass surgery was for me. I turned in my packet, had my office screenings mid-Dec. Right before Christmas I had my appt with the surgeon. He sent the letter of necessity on 1/9/09.
Today (1-16) my request was approved. It only took 1 week !! 
I also got a call back with my surgery date. February 13th is my day. Friday the 13th as it turns out.
I am so excited. Not really scared, but informed and ready. Like having a baby. I am just ready to get it over with.
