California Pacific Medical Center (COE)

"The staff and nurses were amazing, very caring and always on top of things. The nurses even sent me a get well card! The only downside is that I ended on the floor below that most WLS are on, and I was in a small private room that was more of a "closet" (as Dr. C. called it..haha). It wasn't bad but I had heard other rooms had a nice view of the city or the bridge. My window view wasn't as gorgeous. "

"I met Dr. Cirangle at one of the informational support meetings at Good Sam hospital. My first impression was he was young, hip, and very smart. He was very laid back about giving out the information on all the WLS options. A coworker of mine had the surgery with Dr. C about 6 mos prior, and she highly recommended him.rn
rnI then had my consultation with Dr. C. and he listened to what I had to say. I told him after doing research, reading this board, and reading the materials he handed out at the support group that the VSG was the surgery I wanted. He thought it was a very good option for me. He answered all of my questions and was very straight forward.rnrn
rnHis office staff is really nice and always gets back to you. I did have an initial problem getting a surgery date because Anne the scheduler was out of town and she was not getting my messages. Everything went to her voice mail and the emails never got answered. Other than that though everything has been great!rnrn
rnAfter surgery Dr. C. made his rounds later in the evening and was very nice. Went over a few things with me and gave me some meds in my IV for the nasea I was experiencing. He told me he was going to be heading to Hawaii the next day but his partner Dr. Jossart would be in to check on me. Dr. Jossart came in the next day to go over my lab work and talk about post op concerns (diet, vitamins, etc...). Dr. Jossart was very nice and has a great bedside manner. He told me he was going to a conference in Yosemite, but he gave me his personal pager # in case I had any questions. The day after I got home, Dr. Jossart called me from the Yosemite Lodge to check on me. I thought that was EXCELLENT!!rnrn
rnI would highly recommend LAPSF. I would also recommend the hospital, California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. The staff and nurses were amazing, very caring and always on top of things. The nurses even sent me a get well card!rn
rnOne thing I would not recommend is the hospital's hotel... Cathedral Hill Hotel. It is a complete dive. The lobby looks really nice, but the rooms are so outdated, old, run down, and not all that clean. "
