I had to do a two week pre-op liquid diet. This included water, crystal light, juice with less than 6 grams suger in an 8 ounce serving, broth, boullion, SF jello and SF popsicles. This was the hardest the first few days. I lost 24 pounds on this 2 weeks!!

Surgery was uneventful. I had Proximal Lap RNY. Not much pain (much less than I had anticipated). I was able to get up and walk around often in the hospital. I was quite easily able to get in the water consumption that they required for me to be released.

At one week out, vitamins needed to be started. I didnt realize I was going to have such a hard time with this. I was supposed to open the capsules and put it in my protein shake. YUCK!! This absolutely repulsed me. Now I dont even want anything to do with the shakes or vitamins. I ended up taking my vitamins one at a time and struggle to get them in daily. I usually get at least 1 shake a day in.

Heres my daily vitamin list required by my doctor:

AM--
2 Vit. C (500mg each)
2 Iron (150mg each, but I take 1 approx every other day)

Mid--
1 A (25,000 IU)
2 D (50,000 IU each)
1 B12 sublingual (500mg but I take 5000mg)
1 B-Complex
2 Calcium (400mg each)
1 Multivitamin

Evening--
1 E (400 IU)
2 Calcium
1 Zinc (50 mg)
1 Multivitamin
