Hi! My name is Becky and I live in Florida. I was a skinny kid who was a very picky eater. I suffered from low blood sugar all through high school and stayed very thin into my 20's. When I got pregnant for the first time, I developed gestational diabetes and it never left. Diabetes type 1 and 2 run in every generation of my family. (nephews, nieces, brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents) Some are over weight and some are not. Along with insulin resistence came high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, arthritis, and neuropathy.  I've been heavy for the past 22 years. In terms of a BMI, I'm considered a light weight. But, I certainly don't feel like one. I take four shots of insulin a day as well as oral drugs for all my other problems. I'm only 49, but I feel like I'm 79. I have to regain control. I'm also tired of being the fat girl in the room. I used to be the hot girl in the room. I don't need to be the hot girl anymore. I just want to look normal again and be able to enjoy my life with my husband, children and friends. I'm having the gastric sleeve done on the advice of my endocrinologist and my surgeon who is also a good friend. They both agree that banding would not be beneficial to me. I'm really anxious to get the surgery over with. I'm not nervous about it at all. I just want it over with so that I can begin to get my life back.

So yes, I'm back. It's now 9 years after I started and had vsg. I got sloppy and complacent with my sleeve.
