Just have to share a HUGE milestone for me!!  Yesterday, I woke up and I was eyeballing a pair of jeans that were a 10.  I hesitated, but decided 'what the heck! I will try them on..' AND THEY FIT!!!!  I can't believe it! I haven't had on a 10 in YEARS!!  I have come from a 20/22 to a 10!!  Most of the things I have are 14's and they are REALLY BAGGY!!!  My husband got me a gift certificate for Christmas to go and get some amazing Silver Jeans, but now I think I am going to wait until I am down another 5 or 10 pounds, just because I will be closer to my goal weight!  Anyway, I am so thrilled and I am loving my sleeve and loving watching the numbers go down, down, down!!!!! Here's to wishing everyone good luck and best wishes in the coming New Year!

Well, tomorrow I will officially be six months post VSG! I can't believe how it has gone by so quickly! It seems like it was just a couple of months ago I was sitting in Dr. Alvarez's office discussing the procedure just before surgery.  I have had no regrets and I am LOVING my sleeve!  I can't say 'Thank-you' enough!!  I am officially out of the 170's forever, down a total of almost 70 pounds from my HW. Looking at losing about 20 more pounds to hit my goal!  What a day that will be!!!  Things I need to improve on....EXERCISE!  I do exercise & am more active than I was before, but if I push myself I could do more....especially with these last 20 pounds!! I hope everyone else is doing well.  If you are considering the surgery, don't let going over the border to see Dr. Alvarez stop you.  He is FABULOUS!!! I hope you are all doing well!

I am so thrilled to say that this surgery is behind me!  Dr. Alvarez and his crew made sure that everything ran like clockwork!  I am so impressed with how much time they devote to each patient!  I am officially on the LOSERS BENCH and couldn't be more excited!!

Where do I begin?? While I was at work yesterday I had a sudden onset of severe stomach pain which apparently stemmed from acute pancreatitis.  They are keeping me here for about three to five days with nothing to eat or drink. The Dr.s are scratching their heads as I have never been hospitalized for anything other than childbirth, I don't drink, and there is no family history for pancreatitis.  My amylase and lipase are literally through the roof!!  Reference for lipase is 22-51 U/L...mine is 5,689!!!  My amylase is 2,846 with a reference of 36-128.  I am so upset as I was looking forward to changing my life later this week by having the VSG with Dr. A.  The ER doc said there could possibly be an ulcer, but I would probably benefit from being scoped while I am here to determine if there is an ulcer, and if so, the location of the ulcer.  I am so upset b/c I was doing so great on my liquid diet and then BOOM, this happens. Not sure where to go from here...this is so sad.

So it's the middle of the night..3:36 am to be exact, and I have been awake since 1:47am.  I am tossing and turning and thoughts of this surgery are consuming my mind.  I haven't been nervous at all, but this insomnia and anxiousness are certainly effecting my sleep tonight.  It just doesn't seem real that my surgery date is one week from today!  I am SO looking forward to a healthier lifestyle with my family after this procedure, so I amusing that as my focus!  Gosh, I wish I could sleep! 

Well, after much back and forth with financing companies, etc.......(drum roll here)  I have FiNaNcInG and a SuRgErY dAtE!?!?!?!  Wow, I can't believe it!  I feel absolutely blessed and fortunate.  At first I was considering having the surgery in December, but January is going to be the best for me & my family.  If anyone reads this and has any tips, travel suggestions, etc., please let me know as I am don't want to miss anything important!  I can't wait to start off the new year with this procedure!   How exciting!

Well, it has been a few days, but I have contacted Susan with Dr. Alvarez's office and she is fast!       Within little time she sent me my Pre-screen questionnaire.   I asked her how far out the surgery dates were and she said sometimes as little as 2 to 3 weeks!  It is hard to imagine that I could be there that fast!   I am excited!  Anyway, I filled out the questionnaire and within another couple of days she said I was cleared to head that way!  She did tell me that I would need to go on the 1 week liquid pre-op diet, so I ordered some samples today. As soon as I tie up a couple of loose ends here (financing and passport renewal), I hope to schedule a surgery date!  I will definitely keep this posted!

Hello everyone!  I am new here at OH and am excited, curious, anxious......the adjectives could go on and on!  I have finally decided that WLS is going to be the way for me to go!  I have been doing lots and lots of research and for me personally, I think a VSG would be ideal for me.  I'm not that big when it comes to considering WLS, but I see where I've been and where I am headed now.  I want to stop this in it's tracks!  I am definitely considering Mexico, and am pretty sure I have narrowed down my choice of surgeons, but I have not heard back from anyone as of yet. (It was late Friday afternoon when I submitted my requests for information.)  Anyway, I am so excited and look forward to making new friends and finding out about more details about WLS!
