Well where to start? I'm 47 was married 27 years have 3 children and one 4 month old Grandaughter who IS MY WORLD. She is definitely playing a major role in my WLS. I want to be able to take her to the playground and run around with her, walk her to the park or go hiking.. I've battled my weight most of my life. For the most part I was always able to keep it in check somewhat, till I was hit by a drunk driver in 1987 and was permanently disabled, that was the beginning of my down fall with food. I am more of an emotional eater, but I LOVE the taste of food also. I've tried everything under the sun to loss weight and no success. I went to a WLS seminar in RI about 4 years ago and left there pretty much just as confused as when I walked in. Recently the past 3 years I started having other medical issue's that I never thought I would have! This made me look at my weight all over again and in a whole new way. I have to give my Primary Care Paul V. a lot of credit, he has been a great support and did all the work in finding a doctor for me. I went to my seminar Sept 29th 2010 by Nov. I had seen all the doctors and had my Psychological evaluation done, mid Nov the dietitian and doctor told me I needed to loss 30 pounds and when I did that they would schedule my surgery. Well by January I had lost the 30, got my date but had to reschedule due to the doctor. I went for my pre op this week and I have lost another 35 pounds so a total of 65 pounds before I even have the surgery. The doctor was so excited that even he said I was a better candidate for the Lap Band than the bypass. WOW 
I was so happy, the bypass thing wasn't sitting to well with me. Well anyway I will be having surgery this coming Tuesday 3-8-11. I will let you all know how it goes. I would love to meet some new friends and have some support so if you feel like dropping me a message that would be awesome! Male or Female doesn't matter and if you need someone I would be more than happy to be there in your corner also.
UPDATE: SURGERY WAS DONE AND ALL IS WELL.. LOOKING TO BECOME A LOSER NOW :)
