slowing down

Jun 20, 2011

so, here it is, 4.5 months this thursday, and i am really stuck again. i just was reading my profile, and on may 6th i put down that i had lost 71 pounds. since then i have only lost 7 more pounds. that's 7 pounds in the last 45 days. i'm limiting to 600 - 800 calories per day, with at least 80 gms of protein, about 50 carbs, and very few of them being sugars. i do zumba about 3 to 4 times a week, and right at this time, i'm working on the jillian michael's 30 day shred. i do arm exercises with my patient's every day (i work in a physical rehab), and i walk between 5 and 8 miles per day. i also do circuit training. i'm not quite sure what's going on. it isn't like i'm really close to goal or anything. i still have to lose like 50 pounds. i expected maybe the last 20 or 25 pounds to be really difficult, not the last 50!

i am greatful that it is still moving in the right direction, but at this rate, i won't lose my 50 for 315 days. are you serious? that's nearly a year! i don't know ANYONE having the same issues i am with this small a weight loss while working my ass off. i know that people say, "you're probably gaining muscle". however, if i am eating 600-800 calories a day, 4 months post surgery, and i'm burning at least 1500 calories a day (on a bad day), but usually 2800 calories according to my fitbit.

really, how is that supposed to be? even if someone doesn't have surgery, and starts walking 5-8 miles a day (treadmill, not just what you walk during the day for work or whatever) without even changing their diet will lose more than 7 pounds in 45 days!

i'm just frustrated.
