ON JUNE 15, 2015, I had the Gastric Sleeve surgery.

Well what can i Say.  I have been a big guy pretty much my whole life.  I am a father of two very active kids.  I use to be real active and played sports and exercise regularly when the kids were younger.  As they got older and started playing club sports, I became more sedentary.  We would always be on the road with there activities and of course with that comes eating out.  Well that is really when the weight came on along with sleep apnea.  I have always dealt with HBP since I started college and then my cholesterol began to go up as well.  Here i am 43 years old, getting bigger, feeling miserable and getting harder to find clothes.  But it was that one vacation, where i really took a hard look at myself and photos and didn't like the man in the mirror.  I have tried to diet and exercise for the past 20 years also.  YO YO up and down.  Lose 20 gain 25.  Lose 12 gain 15.  Then gain, gain and gain.  By the time I was 44, I had gotten to my heaviest weight.  Here I am now 6 foot 5 inches, 400 lbs, with sleep apnea, High blood pressure, high cholesterol, tired and lazy.  Scared that at some point I am going to drop dead from all the weight or stop breathing in my sleep and never wake up again from my sedentary lifestyle.  I decided it was time to make a change,  I went to seek advice from friends who had already had weight loss surgery and decided that this would be my faith if I wanted to live longer.  Well my journey started and had my sleeve June 15, 2015.  Had my 6 month post op visit and the weight loss was excellent.  But my blood count was not.  They said my wbc was low 3.2 and was vitamin d deficient, b-12 deficient , aniemic and losing muscle.  I have been exercising 3 to 4 times a week most of the time.  Started lifting weights and feel pretty good.  But know I am scared.  They want me to see a hematologist.  I had a high and went to a low within 10 minutes.  My highest weight was in February of 2015 (400lbs) and weight in January 21, at(301 lbs)  but then got the news about my wbc.  I must admit that at times I may not have been getting all my proteins in and taking my vitamins as routinely but since then has been making an effort to do better.  I don't regret having the surgery, but just hope that everything will be ok.  I am constantly praying that this was the best decision for me.
