I had a successful DS surgery on Tuesday March 15, 2011. My surgery was un eventful I am so happy. I ran a low fever and had lots of Gas while in hospital. I was successful at walking 3 to 4 times daily each time making 2 or 3 laps. I was so worried about the catheter and it was the easiest thing to remove. I got out the hospital on Friday and drove back to Georgia. I have a JP drain that I hate but I am blessed to have a sister that comes over to drain it for me 2 times a day. Day 5 was rough because I slept with my c pap night before and it filled me up with air. I had Gas so bad Saturday it was in shoulder, back, chest, and stomach. I also had not had a bowel movement. I called doctor who told me to take enema, and walk. Today Sunday day 6 I feel OK bowels moving doctor called and checked on me. I am a happy camper. I pray that I continue to do well with my surgery. The day of surgery I was down to 293 which made me happy because I did lose some weight. I know that everyday is a struggle. I have too say I have had the best support. John H came to see me in hospital and was a phone call away anytime, Lashelle, called me numerous times and was my sister to listen to me complain but at all times kept saying how much have you drank. Shantee called and kept check on me and my neighbor who had surgery a month ago rubbed my back and prayed I am blessed with family and friends for support. Well I will keep everyone updated. This DS sister will not be broken.
