THREE MONTHS FLEW BY

Jun 14, 2017

I had my 3-month follow up on August 15 with Bariatric RN.  I didn't quite make the goal I set for myself of 30 pounds by 3 months, but came very close.  She told me that at my age and body type I am making excellent progress and my BP was good, and I feel great!  I had a death in my family, my younger brother died, I was his POA and it has really been a tough couple of weeks.  I am going to be in charge of his Memorial Service on Friday and I will be so happy to celebrate his life and then get back to living mine.  I love the progress I'm making, exercise, eating well, socializing and getting to know what works and what doesn't.  Taking it one day at a time, one meal at a time, preparation is the key for me anyway.  I am very thankful for my VSG and all the good things in my life.

2 weeks Post-Op Feeling Great

May 29, 2017

I am beginning to think I am one of the lucky ones, no excessive pain, nausea, gas, just about back to normal.  Now I need to step up my exercise.  I will continue to walk a little more each day until I see the Doc on the 13th of June.  Its still a struggle to get all the water in, but I keep trying.  I want more food, but I am learning to take it a day at a time, and keep to the plan that I was given.  This is really exciting, after ten years of struggle with the lap band, I finally feel that I can do this!!!

Never Too Late to Start Again

Nov 01, 2009

It's been so long since I've added anything.  It's been great to see where I started.  I have not gained and I have not lost.  I have been maintaining a 45 pound weight loss for 2 years.  I am not where I want to be, however, and I need to get back on track with exercise, eating right and trying to get to my sweet spot.  It's hard to know that if I go tighter I will not be able to eat as much and the minute I think about a fill, I will get stuck at my next meal.  Now, if that doesn't show me how psychological this all is, I don't know what does.  Goals for today:

1.  Call and make an appointment for a fill.
2.  Take a walk, start slow and build up.
3.   Eat protein first.
4.  Drink water.
5.  6 healthy well spaced meals and snacks.
One step at a time, one day at a time.

Post Op Visit 11/19/07

Nov 19, 2007

I was down over 5 pounds, yippee. Still sore but feeling great. I had a good talk with Amy regarding my fills and my ability to trust her after the unfortunate leak at my port site and tubing. I'm feeling much better today. Onward with my spirits, downward with the scale. I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Today's the First Day of the Rest of my Life

Nov 12, 2007

I am up early and I'm trying to stay calm and meditate.  I am excited and scared.  In just a few short hours, I will have the new AP lapband.  I pray that it works this time and I have no complications.  Underland here I come!!!
One day at a time, one step at a time.  I claim a miracle.

New Band Surgery 11/13/07

Nov 04, 2007

I thought it was time to update my profile.  I am on day 3 of liquids, it's not fun but I can do this!!!!  I am anxious and excited to get my band fixed, these months of no restriction have been terrible, especially when I know how well the band works.  I know that I have done the best I could and not had a weight gain all these months.  But I was hoping to be near my goal at my one year mark.  Oh, well, there is nothing I can do but look forward and not look back.  I am so much better off than I was last year at this time.  One day at a time, one step at a time.  UNDERLAND here I come!

Four Months from Surgery

Apr 04, 2007

Well, I've lost 30 pounds and I feel terrific!!!  Down from size 20/22 to 16 pants and some medium or large tops.  It's terrifying to shopping, I always head to the "Women's Sizes" but I don't belong there any more and I'm not quite confident about buying smaller stuff yet.  I am going to get by until I'm another 10 or 20 pounds down.  I can run, yes I said RUN up the stairs.  AMAZING.  Third fill is going to be a charm for me, I just feel better already.  I LOVE MY BAND !!!

3 Months

Mar 01, 2007

I had my 2nd fill today and I will be at 3 months on March 5th.  I am down 25 pounds YIPPEE!!!  Amy told me I was a "perfect band patient" I am not sure about that, but what she meant was 2 lbs a week is very good and I am thrilled with this weight loss.  Hope I get some better restriction and am satisified longer.  I LOVE MY BAND!
