Can anybody help me?. Somewhere along the line I lost something. 3 days post-op and somewhere along the line 13 lbs. fell out of my pocket and I cant seem to find it anywhere. I know its mostly water weight and not eating due to the surgery, but it came off without my even knowing it. WOW!! What a way to be a loser!

Wow, I cant believe it!. I never thought the time would get here. Hey, is that the starting line over ther?...the beginning of a new life.....Christine said it best, its our Re-birthday.......
I'm certain that all will go well, and we'll be home for the weekend. Gotta be in there @ 5:30am, so its gonna be a long day. Look forward to seeing everybody soon!

Tick,tick,tick.....Just days away!....We met with the doctor yesterday to go over all of our paperwork. We're all set. Scheduled some last few tests, and we're on our way. It's gonna be a little hectic next week, but we cant wait for the results!!!. We can see the starting line ahead, the beginning of being on the losing side. Never thought I'd WANT to be a loser!

Wow! I cant believe surgery is a meer 15 days away!. We meet with Dr.Baptiste & his staff on Friday. I am sure there is a lot to go over, and I've got so many questions. Changing Dr.'s turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Dr.Baptiste and his nurses seem more attentive than the conveyor belt treatment at Barix Clinic. Everything will be explained in detail instead of "Stamp your head and move on. Pay your money and move thru the next door. No talking,stay in line,etc..." I'm really looking forward to Friday. Woo Hoo!!

Well, here we go again!...After a great meeting @ Barix Clinic with the support group and meeting some wonderful people, the bottom drops out.
The next day, we find out that Barix is scheduling our surgery for 1/31..Great! ...Or so we thought...The next thing we get is a phone call asking us how we wanted to pay our $8,000....WHAT?!?!?!
Almost 6 months ago I talked to the insurance coordinator who stated "congratulations! I just got off the phone with your insurance company and you and your wife qualify for the surgery! We just need to send your paperwork thru 'benefit approval' and we can schedule you"....She then went on to tell me that we'd be responsible for our deducible and any minor "incidental" charges....BULL!
We wasted 6 months with them dragging their feet to "get things in order"....had they said that I owed that money up front,we could have worked around it. But they baited us and waited till we were so close, hoping we'd just cave in. No Way!
Now we're off to find another doctor. Christine worked mini miracles, finding info from Dr.Jean-Baptiste in Plainfield NJ...We know of a few people who have used them and they're very happy they did. We got a quick appointment with them, downloaded the necessay forms and are ready to go. We've already signed the release forms to get all of our insurance paperwork back from Barix so that we can move along. I just hope now that they dont drag their feet with this as punishment for leaving them.

Support Meeting

Well. we did it. My wife and I went to our first support group meeting. It was great meeting all the people you see posting on here. And they were all so wonderfull & eager to help. I know that I probably made a fool of myself, asking so many questions. But then again, I figured, why else would I and everyone else be there?
Thank you to everyone who was so receptive to our questions and thoughts, it really made us feel more at ease. We are so excited about our surgery and hope that the date is set soon. We learned a lot, and we're looking forward to using all the info we gained ASAP in getting us healthy.
