The New me, added Profile photos...

Jan 21, 2015

So I am almost 5 months post op ( January 25th)  and my loss is 67lbs. I am feeling great, just had blood work done this morning, so I am anxious to see what my surgeon says about it, Hopefully i am not lacking too bad in the vitamin and nutrients. My weight loss has stalled for over a month. I hope he is not disappointed. I am. I still have close to 30 lbs to goal. And i feel like I could be doing better with my eating habits. I do exercise and I have done some 5K races which i love! I feel great and it sure feels good to slip into size 10 jeans! Well thats all for now, enjoying my life as a loser!  LOL!!!

OH! I am overweight!!! AND excitement!

Dec 11, 2014

My weight this morning was 185.5, and for my heighth and weight , I am NO longer obese! JUST overweight! Woo-Hoo!

The weight loss has been S-L-O-W lately, but some of that is my own fault, between the holidays, going out of town, and parties, being on the go,etc...well i have LET it take its toll on the speed of my loss. But i AM losing. Just not as fast as I like or could if i was a bit more disciplined.

But, I AM so excited because this Saturday i am doing my FIRST 5K!!!! Wish me luck! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy, healthy, prosperous New Year!

OVERACHIEVER? who? ME?

Nov 05, 2014

I attend regular "PEER to Peer" Support group meetings. There are several of us in the group that are friends, and I love this, It is important for me to have people that have gone through many of the same things that i am experiencing. I strongly encourage going to meetings, IF your Weight Loss Program offers these type of classes. It keeps it in your face, Something we often NEED.

On that note, Often when out Peer to Peer support group meeting is over, (they are held at 3 of the local hospitals here) Our surgeon and staff are in the next auditorium having 'weight Loss Surgery Seminars' for people interested in having surgery, who just have questions, people considering surgery.etc...So after our meeting, Some of Us from OUR group, who have HAD the SURGERY, walk next door, and slip in and sit quietly. The Doctor giving the seminar, knows and appreciates our interruption of his seminar, knowing that we will 'TESTIFY' for the surgery, giving our testimonies, Stats, and are willing to answer any questions that they may have....He introduces us, and we come up front and so on....

Well, when I told my Surgery date, August 25th,2014, and my weight loss of 58 lbs so far, my surgeon kept calling me "an overachiever"  WOW. I dont know about all that...but what a nice compliment from my surgeon. He told me on my last visit, my weight loss was more than expected...So, I just smiled....and I left feeling really good Tuesday night...I never thought of myself as an OVERACHIEVER....Just as a middle aged, obese woman, who decided to have WLS out of desperation...at least thats how i saw myself...I consider his comment, QUITE the compliment!

7 week post OP weight loss, and my surgeon said...

Oct 16, 2014

I was excited, I waited, i had questions....So...He came in, looked at my chart, and asked how i was feeling, I said "great!" and its true. I have so much more energy, its unbelievable.

He asked was I taking my vites. Of course. He said I didnt have to drink and more protein shakes! YAY! (thats a good thing because i had already stopped.)  So I have lost a total of 51 lbs.

I thought my highest weight was 247, so I thought i had lost 47....so according to him my highest weight was 251., i actually have lost 51! and I weigh 199 as of this morning, It feels GREAT to be in ONDERLAND, Barely, but hey, thats OK by me...that scale will only go DOWN from here on out....So he also SAID I HAD LOST MORE THAN EXPECTED!!!! I think he was really impressed!. When i told him I was working out every day 1 hour on the treadmill, he was PLEASED....He said WOW!!!   So here I sit, all sweaty from a 66 min. hard workout on the treadmill at my highest speed yet, and feeling REALLY, REALLY good....This is one happy loser!!

Surgiversary 1 month, and this is what has CHANGED

Sep 23, 2014

Hi! I had Gastric Bypass on August 25th 2014. Wow, Its been an amazing ride, not all has been easy, but SO worth it. So here is the GOOD, NOT-SO-GOOD, and my hopes for October....

Would i do it ALL again? You BETCHA!  I had a great surgical recovery once i got out of the hospital...I did however, have issues at first with HEAD HUNGER, I pushed my POUCH TOO SOON and ended up back in the hospital. Eating the wrong foods too soon, I had to back up, re-group, and admit that My eyes are still bigger than my pouch. I still order too much food and cant eat it. Luckily, My 19 year old son picks up my slack...lol. If i do OVEREAT, I pay the price. This has happened more than Id like to admit. It has been a learning process. I love going to the SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS from my Bariatric Surgical Group...They really help! I get good advice, and It helps to see I am not alone in my struggles and triumphs!  I have started making exercise a part of my life DAILY. I walk my treadmill, and elliptical ONE HOUR daily. I feel SO good when my workout is done. I push myself each workout, increasing speed, etc. This builds my endurance....This has brought me increased self esteem, and decreased depression....putting me in a good mood. Its a win-win.

On that note, here's my stats. My highest weight was 250. I began my Journey with my Bariatric surgeon at 247lbs. The preop diet brought me down to around 227. (20lbs loss) I now weigh 207 (todays weight) Thats another 20lbs loss, so my total is 40lbs loss.  My next biggest Milestone will be hitting ONEDERLAND! I was hoping to hit that by October 1st, but, it may not happen since today is the 24th, and thats only like a week away....but who knows? Maybe!...Either way i feel great, my energy is SOOOOO much better, and the fact that a size 12 pair of jeans I own ~ZIP right up! ~ there are so many NSV's !! I am amazed...My life has improved in SO many ways!! Praise God!!
