Surgiversary 1 month, and this is what has CHANGED

Sep 23, 2014

Hi! I had Gastric Bypass on August 25th 2014. Wow, Its been an amazing ride, not all has been easy, but SO worth it. So here is the GOOD, NOT-SO-GOOD, and my hopes for October....

Would i do it ALL again? You BETCHA!  I had a great surgical recovery once i got out of the hospital...I did however, have issues at first with HEAD HUNGER, I pushed my POUCH TOO SOON and ended up back in the hospital. Eating the wrong foods too soon, I had to back up, re-group, and admit that My eyes are still bigger than my pouch. I still order too much food and cant eat it. Luckily, My 19 year old son picks up my slack...lol. If i do OVEREAT, I pay the price. This has happened more than Id like to admit. It has been a learning process. I love going to the SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS from my Bariatric Surgical Group...They really help! I get good advice, and It helps to see I am not alone in my struggles and triumphs!  I have started making exercise a part of my life DAILY. I walk my treadmill, and elliptical ONE HOUR daily. I feel SO good when my workout is done. I push myself each workout, increasing speed, etc. This builds my endurance....This has brought me increased self esteem, and decreased depression....putting me in a good mood. Its a win-win.

On that note, here's my stats. My highest weight was 250. I began my Journey with my Bariatric surgeon at 247lbs. The preop diet brought me down to around 227. (20lbs loss) I now weigh 207 (todays weight) Thats another 20lbs loss, so my total is 40lbs loss.  My next biggest Milestone will be hitting ONEDERLAND! I was hoping to hit that by October 1st, but, it may not happen since today is the 24th, and thats only like a week away....but who knows? Maybe!...Either way i feel great, my energy is SOOOOO much better, and the fact that a size 12 pair of jeans I own ~ZIP right up! ~ there are so many NSV's !! I am amazed...My life has improved in SO many ways!! Praise God!!
