My story is a little different than some. I was not over weight all of my life as a matter of fact, I've only became overweight over the last 5 yrs. I grew up skinny and through my years in school, I was always that person that could eat anything I want and still lose weight without even trying to. Then in 1996, I joined the Navy and I didn't have any trouble losing weight or keeping weight off because in the Navy we always exercised (at least I did). Then in 2004 (right before I made the decision to get out the Navy). I noticed I started to pick up weight. Everyone thought I was pregnant but I wasn't. So I was a little confused because this was something new to me. I've never battled with my weight. So by the time 2005 came and my contract was up, I decided to get out because I found it hard to keep weight off. So that's what I did, I got in September 2005, and within 2 months of being on terminal leave (leave before you get out of the military) I picked up 60pds.
So for past 5 years, I've been struggling to get the weight off. I've tried all the different diets and nothing work. Or it would work and I would put the weight right back on plus some. Then me and my husband went overseas and I tried to get pregnant then the doctors told me I couldn't because I was overweight . (so this weight is now causing me to never have a baby).
Now since we have came back to the states, I've tried different diets again and once again nothing work. I would spend 3 hours in the gym doing 2 hours of cardio (1hr on eliptical and 1 hr on the bike or treadmill walking) Then I would do weights every other the day and guess what I lost nothing. Now this has became discouraging. So I decided to contact my doctor and she referred me to a Batriatic Doctor right away. Now here I'm waiting to get my surgery date.
