Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile!~

...It's been a year since my RNY, and what a year!  168 pounds down, 58 BMI to a 34 BMI, and actual feet of lost inches.  What I've gained:  some self-pride that welcomes photos now; a collarbone, cheekbones and assorted other emerged bones; and most importantly to me, a new life filled with fun stuff and adventures that I'm totally up for that don't wear me out like before!

I'm maximizing these next six months of weight loss to hopefully fine-tune to an even more shapely size and "closer-to-normal" weight...I say that loosely as a number on a scale has never been one of my goals, rather a more healthy weight and size that makes movement rather effortless!  At 45 years old pre-op, I was fortunate enough not to have the pending comords but was sick of being out of breath with little effort.  I'll be 47 in May '10 and looking forward to rides in the warm Florida sun on my new beach cruiser (complete with In-Step trailer to tote my doggies along!).  I'm quitting my gym membership to enjoy outdoor activities rather than stare at the digital countdowns on the machinery that I never embraced...

I just enjoyed a few days vacationing with my younger brother in Key West--hadn't enjoyed a trip like this in probably 20 years.  I actually loved walking some miles taking in the cool sights and weather!  Planning and looking forward to future excursions, for sure!

If you're contemplating weight loss surgery, please fathom the courage to take this life-changing step towards a world of self-improvement.  It was the best thing I've done for myself as I am so very psyched for the years ahead in the best condition I've been!
