Hi, my name is Bren and I had lap band surgery on May 27, 2008. I was very fortunate in that everything went according to plan and then some. 
I started gaining weight about 6 years ago. I had broken one of my knees as well as my leg. I was laid up for about 6 months ~ and that is when it all began. Prior to that I had done Tae Bo and jogged regularly. I wasn't a "skinny minny" by any means, but was healthy and fit. So that mixed in with some personal things that entered the mix (husband laid-off in aerospace after 32 years, then he had some medical problems as a result).... well, you get the picture.
I have been married for 36 years to the same wonderful man - sometimes =), 
and have a grown Daughter who has given us 2 (3rd on the way) grandchildren.
and a Son who will be married on the 23rd of August.
When the kids were younger we had a menagerie of pets ~ but as the pets aged and passed away, we now only have Buddy ~ a 6 year old Lhasa Apso and Scarlett ~ an 11 year old Tortoiseshell cat.
I am sooooo happy that I decided on the "Band". I love it! Even though I am barely starting my journey, I am committed and thrilled at this lifelong adventure.

I have a 9cc (they only come in one size) Realize band.
1st Fill ~ 7/10/08 3cc
2nd Fill ~ 8/14/08 2cc
3rd Fill ~ 9/24/08 1cc
4th Fill ~ 11/05/08 Showed only 2cc in band?? Brought me back to 6cc
5th Fill ~ 12/10/08 Showed only 4cc in band?? Brought me back to 6cc
01/29/09 Had adjustment under fluro to see if there is a leak. It
appears there isn't one. All of the 6cc were there.
03/03/09 Only 2 cc's were in the band. Will be scheduled for a
port replacement.
1st Fill ~ 05/28/09 I had my port replaced. My doc put in 2cc.
2nd Fill~ 06/17/09 2cc (total 4 cc)
3rd Fill~08/05/09 2cc (total 6cc)
10/08/10 Band Removed :(
post-surgery weight loss of 130 lbs.
30 lbs. under goal!
