Pink Bike

May 30, 2008

Hi everyone ~

It's May 30th, & I have some exciting news to share.  I just bought myself a brand new pink bike!  It's soooo cool!  And, the best part is, I can actually ride it!  I can now ride bike with my husband & kids!  It's been ages & ages since I've ridden a bike.  When I tried it out at the store, I was so nervous to actually sit on it.  I thought for sure I would squish it.  But, nope, there I go.  Rid'n on that darn bike!  I'll post some new pics soon.

I've lost 161 pounds now & am so excited for summer.  I know I'm going to enjoy it!

6 month anniversary

Dec 11, 2007

My 6 month anniversary has come - down 130 pounds.  It feels unbelievable!  The weight loss has definitely started slowing down.  I need to kick it in soon & get back on track.  The numbers are still going down, though, & that I'm thankful for.  I've even posted some pics of me & my family taken last month & used them for Christmas cards too.  Anyway, just wanted to update.

5 Months Post-Op

Nov 08, 2007

Well, it's been 5 months & I'm down 117 pounds!  Pretty cool!  AND... tomorrow is opening day here in ND for deer hunting & I actually really want to go this year.  That's so cool, because before, I just wasn't up to all the walking, etc...  I did get my license, a whitetail buck license to top it off!

Let's see... what else has been going on?  I had another kidney stone & had to have that pounded out.  NOT FUN!  I've had problems with them before surgery though, so I must be one of the lucky ones to get them every year.    I don't drink caffeine & do drink lots of water.  Anyone know what else you can do to prevent them?

Just wanted to update my weight loss info.  Down 117 pounds from 404 to 287 pounds.  Love seeing that 2 in front now!  Anyway, have a great day everyone!

Life Is Looking Good!

Aug 21, 2007

Well, it's been approx. 2 & 1/2 months since my surgery & I've lost 83 pounds so far.  Of course, Dr. B goes from the month before surgery.  I lost 17 pounds that month, so still pretty darn good.  I'm so happy!  I can finally notice with my clothes now - major, big difference!  I started a size 32 jeans & can now wear a size 24.  It just seems unreal.  Like this can't be happening to me, can it?

The first month was tough - real tough.  I had 2 extra surgeries within days appart.  One to remove scar tissue & the other because my intestines were up behind my stomach & needed to be straightened out & pulled down.  It took a while to come back from those 3 surgeries in 3 & 1/2 weeks, but I'd do it all over again!

6 days out

Jun 09, 2007

Just an update ~ Had surgery on Monday the 12th, got out on Thursday.  Dr. Bruderer said everything went great & I should do really well.  I did lose 17 lbs the month before surgery, so I'm really happy with that.    The only problem I'm having is that it seems like I can't drink anything w/o my stomach hurting.  It's like really sharp gas pains, but even small sips of water make it hurt instantly.  Popsicles seems to be working well as does crushed ice, so I'll stick with that I guess.  I walked for 15 minutes - 4 blocks - this morning & another 4 blocks this evening.  I'm going to take a break now & get some rest.

Later everyone
