"I don't believe anyone will regret their decision to have BTC perform their life changing surgery. I have no complaints what so ever. The only thing I can say is that the anethesiologist was rude but he obviously knew his stuff."

James Viglianco

He seemed exhausted. I was his last consult for the day, but he did not rush my husband or I. He allowed us to ask all the questions we needed to. I am a nurse so we asked lots of questions. CJ and Angel are the other 2 we met with from BTC and they were very kind as well. They both have had the procedure done as well. Angel allowed my husband and I to see her scar. I asked Dr. Vig if we could go over to the Bariatric Care Center in Groveport City where they perform the operation (they have their own facility now, only BTC patients are there). So we went. He even drew us out a map to direct us how to get there since we are not from the area. Everyone from the receptionist at the door to the gentlemen in charge of the kitchen @ the hosp. was VERY nice and let us go up to the floor where the patients are staying. I was able to talk to a nurse named Tina, she explained a lot of little stuff to me and we even got to talk to three patients that were up and walking around about their experience. I am fired up and ready to go now after this. I feel this is the answer I have been praying for. Dr. Vig has a very structured after care program and he stresses vitamins and says I will be on prenatal vitamins the rest of my life and will be checked frequently for Iron, Folate, B-12, and protein deficiencies. He says he has performed 500-600 procedures, with a mortality rate of 1%. Dr. Vig also does not use staples to close his incisions. He uses a blind stitch and steri-strips, yeah! Makes for a much prettier incision. He also said I will never be able to take motrin, aleve, pepto-bismol, aspirin, and a couple other pain relievers he mentioned again (possibility of causing ulcers). But they give you a list of alternatives. There are so many other little things that they give you during your hospital stay to take home that I found out while there. I definitely recommend Dr. Vig and BTC to anyone that meets the criteria. Excellent bedside manner and knows his stuff!<br> 02-08-02 I have had my surgery now and have recovered very well from the procedure. My hospital stay went flawlessly and smoothly. No complications and no complaints. My only complaint is I can't get a straight answer on how much intestine was bypassed. I am going to request a copy of my surgical notes. </font></blockquote></b>"
