My name is Sabrina. I have been wanting to get GBP done for several years but didn't the money or the insurance to do it. One and a half years ago I was put on disability and got medicaid. Then I couldn't find a doctor that would take it for the surgery. Then one day I found Dr. Thomas and my prays were answered, I had to go through all the pre-op stuff and the psychologist put a six month hold on me to make sure I was ready and able to stick with it. I have done it and just got my approval on Monday afternoon. I have an appointment with the doc on Feb. 13, for my pre-op visit and hopefully will get a date for surgery. It is such a relief. I have lost 72 pounds since August 17, when I seen Dr. Thomas for the first time. I am now 398 pounds and my goal is to get under 200.
