On April 17 07 my pcp recomended me for surgery, I weighted 514. The RN at the doctors office said to start losing wieght right away. Group Health Denied the claim. I have sleep apnea and hypernention, but they felt that the conditions were not diagnosed signiciantly. In the mean time I self weighted at the doctors 525 and started weight watchers where I weighed 520. (these were months apart. I appealed the denial in August/September and received approval in lat October. During the appeals process I lost enough weight and was under the 488 that the insurance required for the surgery (5% total body weight). The presurgery process was finished by December of 07 but the Doctor was busy and I got a date of May 19th. I had the surgery without complication. I went into the Hospital at 484 (according to the scale) The nurse put on the chart 483 giving me credit of 1 pound for the 5 pounds of cloths/shoes etc i had on. So the doctor uses a start weight of 483, and I don't know what weight to use.
