Dean Roye

"My first impression of Dr Roye was very confident. He came into the room and introduced himself and answered every question I had without hesitation. As far as my inpression over time is concerned, it didnt change at all. He was as confident and friendly the day of surgery as he was the day I met him. rnrnDr Royes office staff is very nice however his secretary could use a lesson in compassion sometime. I did pass on my concerns to Dr Roye while I was in the hospital and he was very happy to hear what I had to say b/c he said that if someone doesnt tell him things, he doesnt really know about it. My main issue with his secretary was that my surgery had to be cancelled due to the Dr's wife having a baby. I had to do my bowel prep and was needing to do that around 10-10:30 but was told not to call the office to see what time to be at the hospital until after 11. You would have thought that there would have been proactive calls to the patients scheduled the next day to tell them not to bowel prep, especially considering the drs wife had the baby 3 days earlier. rnrnThere really isnt anything that I can say that I didnt like about Dr Roye. rnrnFuture patients should know that at their first appointment, they will not meet Dr Roye. They meet with his Nurse Practitioner. You will meet with Dr Roye once you are approved by insurance and have completed all the required pre-op testing. rnrnDr Roye emphasizes aftercare greatly. He will tell you once surgery is done that it is up to you and encourages an exercise regimine.rnrnAs far as a structured aftercare program, Dr Roye doesnt really have one. rnrnAt my appointment when I met Dr Roye as well as my initial appointment with his NP, the risks of surgery were addressed and discussed in detail. rnrnOverall I would rate Dr Roye on a scale of 1-10 as a 10. His office staff, probably about a 6 due to his secretary and her poor attitude and lack of compassion. rnrnAs far as Dr Roye's surgical competence and bedside manner, they are both fantastic. I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon. He and his team were great all the way down to his medical students. "
